A Defense that lacks depth is always going to struggle much more the final third, maybe half, of a season, especially in 2nd halves of those games. We had basically 0 depth at LB. That can kill almost any D.

#118 in the nation in giving up 1st downs? One thing that always means is a weak - in every sense - DL. The DL is physically weak. It lacks heart, so it also is mentally and emotionally weak. And it is weak in terms of depth. No LB depth and a weak DL? Expecting that D to be successful is silly.
