That program is a flippin' mess right now. I don't understand why Mike London is still employed there, but admit not knowing all the specifics. This is highly unflattering though:

Lambert becomes the third consecutive incumbent starting quarterback to leave the Cavaliers since 2012.

Since 2012, seven quarterbacks have transferred, including 2012 starter Michael Rocco, 2013 starter David Watford, Ross Metheny, Phillip Sims, Michael Strauss and, earlier this week, redshirt freshman Corwin Cutler, who made a similar announcement on Twitter.

Unfortunately for them, looks like Mike London is their John Bunting. Recruits really well all things considered (despite no on-field results) so there's a constant hope of "We're just a year away." Additionally, just like JB, London seems like a great guy who's likable so it's tough to fire him.

I say keep him on for an extra few seasons ;)

That's a good point. Bunting recruited much better than he developed players and coached teams. And he was and is very likeable.

My guess is that UVA will make a real effort to land a top coach once London is fired. Hopefully we have turned the corner before that happens.
