It's been a bit since the last ranking thread so I thought I'd try one.

Rank the following cities based on how much you care to visit them. I tried to get a variety.

New York City
London
Paris
Rome
Rio de Janiero
Sydney
Hong Kong
Madrid
Athens
Dubai

Paris
Rome
Sydney
London
Athens
Madrid
NYC
Hong Kong
Rio

Not going to Dubai for any reason.

I hate traveling, but I'll play along. I've been to NYC, and I think it's a dump, so I'll leave it off. JMO obviously.

Rome
Sydney
London
Paris

...Hell I don't know. All these places are the same to me.

New York City -- I've been there, it's a cool place.

London -- never been to Ontario

Paris -- never been to Texas, but I think Campbell's Soup is based here

Rome -- only about 45 minutes from me up I-75. It's an okay town. It gets pluses for decent looking country girls and hosting a Braves affiliate

Madrid -- Wild Hogs was a pretty good movie

Athens -- lived there for a year. Don't urinate in public after a night downtown. The cops will catch you and arrest you. Go Dawgs

The rest: No.

If I was going to pick a city in Spain I would pick Barcelona over Madrid by a long shot.

5 star thread.

1 - Sydney - Really want a Vegemite sandwich.
2 - Paris - Need to put those 3 years of high school French to use.
3 - Athens - Would love to get a selfie with Zeus.
4 - Rome - I want to do what everyone else is doing.
5 - Rio - One word - whores.
6 - London - Look kids, Big Ben, Parliament.
7 - Madrid - Ahh, the Sunshine State.
8 - New York City - But only because of its salsa
9 - Hong Kong - Might go next year for a Bob Sapp fight.
10 - Dubai - That place is a dump.

My picks, with an explanation of three words or less that may or may not have anything to do with its ranking.

1) Sydney - wallabies and koalas
2) Madrid - nightlife
3) Athens - mythology
4) Rome - nom nom nom
5) Rio - Carnival
6) London - bugger off, wanker
7) Paris - I see underpants
8) New York City - No passport
9) Dubai - Ka-ching
10) Hong Kong - claustrophobia

I'll answer my own question. I am not a city person at all. I can barely handle Charlotte. Someone do a Rank 'Em on National Parks and I could answer this far easier.

Already been to Rome and NYC

City I would most like (at present) is tie between Edinburgh Scotland or Jesusalem.

Never been to any of these. But I'm fond of the ones North Carolina has to offer :)

Not going to Dubai for any reason.

Why ? From a tourist perspective it is very nice.

I am actually hoping to move there in a few years. You can bank some serious $$$ if you work for a company there. Virtually no taxes, housing allowance, car allowance, etc. and very westernized.

As for the list :

Rome - Have always wanted to visit since I started taking Latin in 9th grade
Dubai - Lots to see and do. Nice beaches, good restaurants, good clubs, good customer service everywhere.
Paris - Surprisingly awesome architecture, good food (have been twice for work)
London - been a ton for work .. no real desire to go again (although I will later in the year)
Sydney - Been a few times for work ... not really that special to me
No desire to visit the rest

Cities I would visit (on my own dime) and are not on the list:

Santiago - been once for work ... beautiful, great people, great food
Stockholm - been several times for work ... would move here permanently if I could afford it
Helsinki - been a few times for work ... just overall nice
St Petersburg - been few times for work ... beautiful city, beautiful women... poor customer service
Vienna - been a few times for work...great people, food...beautiful scenery
Zurich - been a few times for work...great people, food...beautiful scenery
Anchorage - went last year with my daughter ... just awesome place to base a trip
Prague - been a few times for work ... great people, great food, dollar goes a long way
Budapest - been a few times for work ... good food, beautifully laid out
Berlin - been a few times for work ... great food, friendly people, easy to get around

Not going to Dubai because inevitably some Sheikh's third wife would take a liking to me and I don't need to go to a Middle East prison for 20 years or be publicly castrated or whatever the hell else passes for law and order over there.
