"Roy Williams not sweating academic 'fraud' allegations at UNC"

Williams and North Carolina did eventually move their players out of the AFAM major – but the majority of the 2005 national championship team was in that major. When asked if he had concern about having that many players in a tainted area of study, Williams said no.

"They were juniors when I got here [in 2003]," Williams said. "I can't change their majors. Think about that."

He said the 2005 championship should not be vacated and that even if players were given no credit for the AFAM classes, they still would have been eligible.

"Even if you give a guy four Fs in that spring semester, he's still eligible,'' he said. "We didn't have ineligible players. They took courses that the university offered.''

Meanwhile other colleges have guys who were paid/and or given jewelry on credit and they are "in the clear".

BTW, whatever happened wrt the recent rape allegations against a certain dookie?

It's a good sign! The NCAA is being sued right now by former players for lack of an education. Any ruling the NCAA makes with regard to academic qualifications as part of their scope of authority opens the door for more litigation by any student-athlete that has ever been granted a scholarship in any sport. The NCAA can't even regulate their own scope of responsibility of players being paid; but, surely they have good enough legal counsel to keep them from opening Pandora's Box!
