Speaking of hackers

Yeah, this is scary . . there was a segment on the news about this.

Not good.
 
This is one of the "cons" of turning our cars into giant computers. I recently bought a new car, but kept my 2003 Nissan Xterra. That thing might come in handy one day!

This attack was limited to a single car. I think it said the hackers needed to know the car's IP address to execute the plan. But can you imagine if hackers learn how to simultaneously hijack every car of the same make and model? They could cut the breaks and mash the accelerator for tens of thousands of cars, all at the same time. This has the potential for some truly awful stuff.
