Florida St at Louisville on Friday night is a huge game for each program. The losing coach is going to hear more about the old Hot Seat, while the winner will be thrilled with the Atlantic W.

Syracuse throttled Louisville earlier this year, and an Orange W over Purdue in Week 3 would signal strongly that Cuse is indeed for real this season.

Last week, Texas A&M lost to App St, and this week the Aggies face Miami. Jimbo's season would be ruined with back to back OOC losses. A Canes loss could tip Miami away from any upward movement. AS with the rest of us, beating any SEC team not named Vanderbilt is a very big deal for national respect.

Clemson hosts Louisiana Tech, which is under 1st year HC Sonny Crumbie. who has been OC at both TCU and TTU.

Speaking of TTU, the Red Raiders visit urine- stained Carter-Finley to take on everybody's darlings, the Fightin' Wufs. TTU also has a 1st year HC: Joey McGuire, who previously was Baylor's AHC. McGuire was one of those great TX HS coaches who'd been hired by northeasterner Matt Rhule when he took the Baylor HC job. Aranda kept McGuire on his staff. TTU enters the game 2-0. Their 2nd W was an upset of #25 Houston. This is the big test for Moo before getting to tough ACC games, starting at Clemson.

GT hosts the Ole Miss Rebels. Geoff Collins has had 3 consecutive 3 win seasons. His seat is getting very hot. An upset of a ranked SEC team would do wonders for him and GT.

Pitt heads to Western Michigan a week after losing in OT to a ranked SEC team. AS starting QB Slovis was knocked out, and back up Patti played with a limp, Pitt likely still feels good about its season matching last year's.

Wake hosts 2-0 Liberty. Hugh Freeze will have circled this game back in Spring, along with games against VT and at Arkansas.

Notre Dame will try to get on track this week against Cal.

FSU D opened by forcing the Cards into a 3 and Punt. Then FSU marched and scored a TD.

The FSU receivers (TE as well as WRs) are tall and very sound. They could destroy our secondary.

Bot FSU and Louisville look like quality teams. Not great but good quality. So then how good is Syracuse?

Wilson, the FSU WR who transferred in from AZ ST, is excellent. He is 6-7, runs crisp routes, and has very good hands. If FSU stays with Rodemaker at QB the rest of the year, that pass combo could cause major trouble for everybody.

Not sure about the ceiling for that coach, but their OL was creating some space and their rbs were awesome too.

So glad we don't play Malik Cunningham. I came to Kenan for our opener vs Lamar and still have nightmares.

Our D does poor containment. Even so, FSU's Wilson is the very real deal. He's even better than I realized against LSU. He should be targeted at least a dozen times a game. He'd make JR 5* Grimes look like an average freshman 3* CB.

Syracuse-Purdue game was ugly. But Cuse won on a long TD pass with 7 seconds left. Good win for the ACC. The more wins we have against BT and SEC teams, the more chance we have of a 1 loss ACC team getting into the playoff.

Ole Miss leads GT 21-0 with 5 and a half left in the 1st half.

The 1-1 Jackets are looking at no better than a 4th consecutive 3 Win season under Collins. They go to UDF next week. They go to a much improved FSU in Oct. Dook is improved. They have to go to VT, which is looking better than against Old Dominion. They end the season on the road in Chapel Hill and then in Athens.

Will GT fire Collins after 4 ugly losing seasons?

Wait. He already does. Bly can recruit but he can’t teach fundamental football. Same thing goes for Cross. So mediocrity is once again the norm in Chapel Hill.
