McGuire was one of those great TX HS coaches who'd been hired by northeasterner Matt Rhule when he took the Baylor HC job. Aranda kept McGuire on his staff. TTU enters the game 2-0. Their 2nd W was an upset of #25 Houston. This is the big test for Moo before getting to tough ACC games, starting at Clemson.
GT hosts the Ole Miss Rebels. Geoff Collins has had 3 consecutive 3 win seasons. His seat is getting very hot. An upset of a ranked SEC team would do wonders for him and GT.
Pitt heads to Western Michigan a week after losing in OT to a ranked SEC team. AS starting QB Slovis was knocked out, and back up Patti played with a limp, Pitt likely still feels good about its season matching last year's.
