Yet another reason NC and not OH is the rightful home of the Wright Brothers legacy.

Funny shit…when people wanted to celebrate the anniversary of the Wright brothers they built an exact replica to duplicate the first flight at the same place in kitty hawk. Wright bros chose that spot cause “the wind never ceases” there. Well on that day….it of course did. They had several failed attempts before finally crashing

some years back, the Ohioans on the main board or wherever were mightily upset over our 'First in Flight' license plates. The dumbasses couldn't legitimately claim the same, but that didn't keep them from whining. Eventually, they decided to invade in overwhelming numbers, but went to South Carolina instead of North Carolina (mostly). They couldn't even get that right, thank God.

lol yeah, you have to give 'em that I guess. Not just any State can lay claim to catching a river on fire.

Maybe their license plate should have that depicted, a burning river and the words 'First in Firewater' or something similar.

N.C has one of the best DOT’s in the country. Their ferry system is one of the best in the nation.
the ferry system hardly represents the entire DOT domain, and how hard is it to move a ferry back and forth over the same stretch of water? Long ago, our DOT was among the best in the country. Now, not so much and if you lived around Raleigh you'd laugh at the notion as we spent a gazillion dollars correcting mistakes made in several gazillion dollar projects. And their signage is incredibly inept everywhere. When you're approaching an unfamiliar intersection of two multi-lane roads in heavy traffic so that you need to know which lane to be in to turn onto the intersecting road...and the only sign indicating it is directly opposite the ramp you need to turn onto, so that you have to get over two lanes at the last minute IN all that traffic...somebody needs to have his dumb ass kicked. That someone works at the DOT and he has bosses that need their asses kicked too.

I have been on every ferry the state runs and yes it is hard….
