Arizona Diamondbacks starting pitcher Zac Gallen continued his streak of solid starts Saturday. Posting a one-run outing in the team’s 5-1 loss to San Francisco, Gallen tied an MLB record with 21 games allowing three or fewer earned runs to start his career. Entering Saturday, Gallen sported a 2.70 ERA and a 1.17 WHIP through 20 career games. (Arizona Sports)

Zac Gallen Breaks 26-Year Old MLB Record
On Friday, UNC baseball alum and current Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher Zac Gallen started his 22nd Major League Baseball game. He allowed one earned run over seven innings. In doing so, he broke the MLB record for the number of starts at the beginning of a career allowing three or fewer earned runs. He also picked up his first win of the season. (All Tar Heels)
