Just some thoughts:
Like most of you the Duke loss and the manner in which we lost that game ( Louisville as well) havs been festering in my stomach all week. When I watch this team, I really like our kids and the progress we have shown, but I also feel extreme frustration when they throw games away down the stretch by just not making "the plays" that have always separated UNC from 95% of the rest of college basketball. In the past, when a UNC player went to the free throw line down the stretch, it was of no concern. I have to admit that FT shooting is a fairly new concern when watching UNC games and it is costing us games.
But before I start to sound to negative, this team reminds me of the 2004 team. Do you remember that awful game ending miscommunication at Duke with Felton and McCants? It just continues to feel to me like we are one year away still and our chances next year would be greatly enhanced by one stud addition. One more go to guy that wants the ball at the end of games other than Marcus Paige.
We showed some really good things at Duke, including an attitude for most of the game. I hope this team can harness that for the rest of the year. It would be nice to come out today and crush tech by twenty, but we shall see.
Go Heels!
