I've been to a good number of spring games in the past and, in my opinion, this was the worst. First off, the school didn't seem to care about it and didn't bother even half heartedly to promote it. When we arrived at the game, we tried to park in the Rams Head lot and the parking attendant said that it was only for handicapped people until 3 pm. He laughed and said that it was ridiculous because the actual game started at 3 and I agreed with him. We then took our boys to Tar Heel town with the hopes of seeing the players and getting some autographs. Well, someone decided that this wasn't going to be part of the game this year. So, we made our way over to one of the tents that was selling Carolina gear. There was a long line and only one poor kid working the entire tent. To make matters worse, his credit card machine wasn't working and he was forced to only take cash. I really felt bad for him because people were getting pissed. After that we went into the stadium so that our kids could run onto the field before the game started. It was an awesome experience for both of my boys, but it was also extremely unorganized. The security people were explaining the process, which was the the kids would run on the field and the parents had to stay in the stands. The security people said that they were not told what would happen after that. Basically, no one knew where the kids would come off the field. Fortunately for me, my boys were able to find me, but there were also kids who were terrified because they couldn't find their parents. The final complaint was the access to seating and consessions. The security people would not allow you to walk under the stands to get to the section that you wanted. Basically, you had to enter in certain sections but then you were free to sit wherever you wanted in the stadium. So, you had people lined up trying to inch by each other around the aisles. From what I saw, there was only 1 consessions stand open for the entire stadium. Now, there were a few small vendors set up (Ben & Jerry's, etc.), but they were cash only.

I am generally not one to complain about spending a day inside Kenan stadium, but today was different. If the university treats next year's spring game like they did this year, it will be my last.
