Poor - Spain. It’s a laid back country that values life over work. Great climate. Great food. Amazing women. Everything is affordable.

Their economy is also tied to Greece and is about a half a step away from collapsing. Plus, they don't control their own money, so that makes massive austerity cuts more likely as they have to contract their economy to help the Germans export cars and appliances.

Rich - Virginia
Middle class - North Carolina
Poor - South Carolina

I have zero desire to live anywhere outside the US and really, outside the southeastern US. I would consider Alaska, Wyoming, Montana, Idaho and Utah though.

I wouldn't mind living abroad, at least for a little while, but I have no delusions about it like most of the leftists on this board. Any country that would openly take you right now is either a third world s*** hole, or quickly turning into one. I guess if you like austerity measures and/or rampant crime and anti-Semitism, you could relocate to parts of Europe.

You shouldn't really live anywhere in Europe if you're rich - they take like 80% of your salary in taxes...damn communists.

Rich - Maldives
Middle - Stockholm
Poor - Florence, Italy

I'm similar. Montana in the Whitefish area has been a draw for me, but I've never dealt with their winters. I like western NC and the VA mountains. I think I could live in Maine and parts of Canada too.

This tells me you have not traveled much.

Rich Anywhere
Middle class Croatia
Poor Any of the Eastern Europe|Balkan countries

My BIL retired last year and bought some land in Ecuador and is the process of building a house. That works for him but I have no desire to liv outside the US

Rich: Zurich- in the middle of everything but strict immigration policies keeps the poors away
Middle: Vancouver- great city, lots to do outside, legal weed
Poor- St. Somewhere, Caribbean- never have to waste money on heat or a/c, pretty much walk everywhere, steady stream of tourists to scam for cash for beers.

rich: anywhere i want
middle class: costa rica
poor: netherlands
I have some friends who bought land in Costa Rica, who planned to possibly move there upon retirement, especially if culture, economy, government authoritarian control etc really made things worse in US.

I'd still rather live in US, but I believe Costa Rica and Switzerland are beautiful places to live, and they are both fairly liebertarian (not big government oppressed) countries. I believe its nearly impossible to immigrate into Switzerland, though. I've heard their immigration laws are super-strict and selective.

Both countries are much more socialistic than America FYI
