Let the good times roll! We are far from perfect but I'm enjoying this run while we're on it. Hey, beats the heck out of being 1-5.....!!
In other news, Pitt fans think they're just as good as every team in the Top 10. So there's that.
All black with tie-dye trim. It's the "The Dead Isn't Dead" look.what uniforms will they wear vs uva?

I have a funny feeling about this week, but don't want to say more for fear of jinxing it.Also.......I know I know, he's not getting enough carries (and I agree), but even so, Elijah Hood definitely has a shot at 1000 yards. Right now, through six games, he's at 545 yards rushing.
Yeah, two wins away from bowl eligibility but it's nice to have our sights set higher than that, six games into the season. We're approaching the last game of the phase I labeled "beat who you should" on premium (Wake and UVA), then we enter the meat of our schedule. At a minimum, to reach Charlotte we need to win out at home. Wins against Miami and Duke could be invaluable. But yeah, 5-1 is a lot of fun. We're one game ahead of schedule from where I thought we'd be.
We're right where we need to be in the conference race. I think Miami is still in the hunt since none of the quartet in contention has played each other yet. The good news is we have two of those games at home, and the other is the featured Thursday night game so you HAVE to think the players will be hyped.
And we're also, what, two wins away from bowl eligibility? I think that's right since we played 2 FCS teams (can only count 1) but somebody correct me if I'm wrong.

I wouldn't be shocked at all if Miami gives Clemson all they can handle.Clemson should help us out with Miami this weekend
5 carries x 6 games x 6.9 yards per carry = dammitjust imagine for a moment if he just got five more carries per...
They're just saving him for the meat of the schedule. Right guys? Guys...?5 carries x 6 games x 6.9 yards per carry = dammit
Through 6 games:Also, real talk, T.J. Logan must be the most unhappy member of the team right now. Getting no carries whatsoever.
I agree and I get it. It's not a "problem" for the team for sure, and yes he is vulturing carries but this vulturing is leading to huge chunk plays and TD's.Through 6 games:
Logan: 30 carries
Francis: 9 carries
Morris: 5 carries
Quise is vulturing everyone's carries. The "problem" is that he's averaging 7.2 yards per. Coaches are trying to win games, not keep everyone on the roster happy, but that's gotta be hard for these guys. I really wish we'd run more sets with multiple backs, but maybe we're saving that for a rainy day.
Right?? This perplexes me. Would like to see like a screen pass or put him in the slot or something. He's so dangerous in open space. If I were on the offensive staff I'd be trying to find ways to throw it to Logan to get him his touches
UNC is third nationally in points per play, the most important offensive efficiency metric (IMO), behind Baylor and TCU. It's hard to find much genuinely worthy of criticism at this point.be careful when you question the staff after 50-14 and when you're 5-1.

I think it is clear that Narduzzi is already paying off. He is a definite upgrade over Chryst. If he will stay there, he is the kind of coach who can get Pitt back into the Top 10.Regarding Pitt: Pitt is 5-1 with its loss being to 7-0 Iowa, on the road, by a 57 yard FG on the last play of the game. Considering Pitt is without ACC POY James Conner, definite improvement.
Pitt fans aren't saying Pitt is as good as "every team in the Top 10". In fact, this is a relatively young Pitt team with its best years to come. So we'll see how the season plays out.

If they played 10 games against each other, Pitt would apparently beat Baylor 5 out of 10 times.Regarding Pitt:

First, the conference is always better when Duke losesBack when we added Pitt and Syracuse, I made a claim that I think remains valid: for ACC football to maximize its value, we need teams like Wake and Dook to Lose and rarely make bowls, while teams with the largest football fan bases and most football history (at least since the beginning of 2 platoon football) win the most.
As odd as it may sound to many of us who grew up in the South, that second category includes all 3 of our school,s located north of the Mason-Dixon Line. Pitt, Cuse, and BC all have a Heisman since helmets got face masks and 2 platoon football took over. Adding to that is the fact that the northeast is filled with people, eyes we need to get tuned into ACC football in large numbers to maximize our value to TV.
And that means that the ACC needs at least 2 from among Pitt, Cuse, and BC to be bowl eligible each year. It also means that a couple of times per decade, one of them is in the run to make the ACC Championship as late as the beginning of November. Of the 3, Pitt is the one best situated to build a consistent winner that periodically can play really big.
Even Ohio St must recruit the South to win at the top level. Narduzzi knows that. Unlike Chryst, he has the personality to pull it off.First, the conference is always better when Duke loses
But yeah, of the 3, Pitt has much, much, much more working in their favor to help them re-establish their 70's and 80's success:
- despite the "Great Exodus" from Western PA and Eastern OH, there's still a decent amount of talent in W. Pa, and if Pitt can successfully mine that talent, plus mine the rest of Pennsylvania, then they'll have enough talent to be competitive.
- And, in general, Pitt is much closer to football hot beds than BC or Syracuse. Besides W. Pa., Pitt is close to Ohio, the best talent-producing state east of Texas and North of the Mason-Dixon. Ohio and Pennsylvania are outliers....two Midwestern states that produce elite high school talent, surrounded by other states who absolutely do not (Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, etc.). Meanwhile, Syracuse is in the barren wasteland of Western(ish) New York, too far from the parts of PA that produce talent, and too far from New Jersey, the best talent-producing state in the Northeast, by far.
- Pitt is a good academic school but has less stringent requirements than BC and isn't pigeon-holed as a Catholic university like BC.
Still though, Pitt's eventually going to have to make hay in the South to supplement their Midwest talent, if they want to become elite again. IMO. Their fans also need to stop obsessing over Penn State and show up to watch their own team play.
Ohio State has zero problem recruiting in the South, especially in North Carolina. It helps them that, in addition to their football success, their transplant alumni is EVERYWHERE in the South, so recruits are always familiar with the Buckeyes.Even Ohio St must recruit the South to win at the top level. good post... the attendance issue has nothing to do with PSU which is three hours away but has everything to do with the city itself. a pro town.. Even in the glory days of pitt football they rarely sold out.. throw in Heinz which is too big for Pitt to fill and thus a demand is never created due to ample supply..either way I will be there next thursday and expect a good game.. the game at Chapel hill last year was a ton of fun and a great game...First, the conference is always better when Duke loses

I didn't intend to imply that Pitt attendance was related to caring too much about what's going on at Penn State. And trust me, we know all about poor attendance. We can't get more than 45,000 to a game when we are having our best start to a season in 18 years.good post... the attendance issue has nothing to do with PSU which is three hours away but has everything to do with the city itself. a pro town..
