Looking at the action picking up for the class of 2017, I was glancing over some of my notes and a couple things jumped out to me that I found interesting. A couple of trends stand out that have already continued into the few 2017 prospects. As more offers go out I'll keep my eye out for anything else that seems to be repetitive.
- With four current offers extended to the C/O 2017, at this same point in recruiting the 2016 class, seven offers had been extended. Those seven offers represented 30% of the total offers extended to 2016 prospects.
- With the offer to Kevin Knox, the E1T1 AAU program has received an offer from UNC for each of the last four seasons (Joel Berry + D'Angelo Russell 2014, Antonio Blakeney 2015, Tony Bradley 2016).
- UNC has offered a prospect from the state of Florida every class from 2011 - 2017.
- Of the 23 offers for 2016, only five were to players from west of the Mississippi River - not including Markkanen. Four of those five were from the state of Texas. So far, all 2017 offers are east of the Mississippi.
- UNC has landed three of the last four players offered from the state of South Carolina. Brice Johnson, Seventh Woods and Jalek Felton. PJ Dozier is the miss.
