It also shows the value of Dave Clawson and his staff.Just shows we’ve wasted a lot of QB talent and our defense is terrible.
Not sure why you continue to prop him up. His numbers show he's an average coach, at best.It also shows the value of Dave Clawson and his staff.
Some coaches who are wildly successful at small places that simply should not win cannot do much when they get jobs at schools that could win a whole lot more. So Clawson might lay a rotten egg as HC at a UNC or VT or SoCar. But he also might then be able to win more than he has at Wake and get his new team into the National Championship hunt.
I certainly agree with that. I think Mack’s nearing the end of his time at UNC. Most seemed to feel that his success, or lack there of, was going to largely depend upon Mack’s ability to assemble a very good staff. He didn’t and the results speak for themselves, an offense that put up gaudy numbers and a defense that often resembled the Keystone Kops, resulting in a very mediocre team. Major changes were made to the staff, we’ll see if they make a difference. It also shows the value of Dave Clawson and his staff.

He is at Wake. Not at Clemson. Not at FSU. Not even at UNC.Not sure why you continue to prop him up. His numbers show he's an average coach, at best.
I think he’s better than average when you consider how small Wake Forest is. Here is his record vs Mack’s over the last four years:Not sure why you continue to prop him up. His numbers show he's an average coach, at best.
He's had one winning record in the ACC and is 5-4 in bowl games. He is just a guy who feasts on bad OOC teams. He hasn't improved the program since he's been there. That's not a guy who is better than average. Better than average coaches improve programs.I think he’s better than average when you consider how small Wake Forest is. UNC 30-22 20-14
WFU 31-18 17-14
Seems like Clawson has done more with considerably less talent and resources.
Pretty bad excuse. Next time Mack gets beat by Clemson, I'll make sure to use the he's not at Clemson excuse. He is at Wake. Not at Clemson. Not at FSU. Not even at UNC.
I’m not suggesting that UNC hire him. I just think he’s a pretty good coach that would win more games with our talent than the talent he has at Wake. I hope we hire a younger, more energetic coach when Mack leaves. No more contract extensions for Mack. He's had one winning record in the ACC and is 5-4 in bowl games. If that is the case everybody on that list has wasted QB talent except OSU,Bama, and UGA…Just shows we’ve wasted a lot of QB talent and our defense is terrible.
