The Greensboro news channels are slobbering all over this story...
Sedgefield is a joke of a course for a PGA event. Anyone who makes the cut could win this thing.
so is harbor town and to an extent augusta, for different reasons though.

G why Augusta? Just curious. Also have you played it by chance?
yes...played it in 2000
i just don't think it's difficult, overall...they've tried to make it tougher, but everyone got mad...remember when they lengthened it, added rough, trees, new hole locations?...did z.johnson win it one year at +1???
they've realized that -15 is okay and i think the public wants that because the us open is so tough and the other two are always hit or miss.

Ya know little boy that is quite an appropriate name for you.......
I have been involved in the golf business for nearly 50 years...I really need no lectures or admonishments from individuals like you
btw genius that term is what HE used to describe his ethnicity.......... thought a self described "smart" guy like you would have known that.
Tiger referred to himself as "Cablanasian" on Oprah. Wake up!

To the uptight PC police, true. There is a difference between calling yourself a cablanasian and someone else referring to you as The Cablanasian.
I disagree, 71. As a longtime competitive tournament golfer (Hooters/Nike Tour was the peak level) I can speak to the influence that confidence (and lack thereof) has to do with getting back into 'winning form' and there is a HUGE amount of pressure on Tiger (mostly from himself) to get back on top one weekend, regardless of the Tour stop. Yes there is more general pressure at a Major, even after winning 14 of them - but I think with the state of Tiger's mental and physical game right now, a GGO win would be meaningful on several levels.

How about to Tiger? Do you think he would appreciate being called and referred to as The Cablanasian?
It's not about PC police, it is about basic respect.
I guess I'm different. He's clearly mixed race (same as my nephew) ...if I was in his shoes and took the liberty of referring to myself in this way in front of the entire world, I wouldn't get upset when folks used that word in the future to describe my "race."
It's not like he called himself a n***** on Oprah and then folks started calling him that. Lighten up Francis.
I have met and played golf with Tiger, he's about as self-deprecating as they come. I would bet everything I own that he would read this thread, shrug and say "Nah, that's what I am, no big deal." Without a hint of racism I would use that term to describe his race to someone. A lot of folks assume that all minorities are super sensitive to anything that can be interpreted as "racism" ....Tiger, in my experience, is not that way and he's proved that over and over with the media through the years.
Surprised by 71's sensitivity over something so trivial. Not surprised by uncboy's sensitivity to something so trivial.
Who gives a shit? What a stupid thing to care about.
No I wouldn't refer to him as that, I would say his name. Read my posts, I said when discussing his race, I would use the (non-racist) description that he also used to describe himself. Plain and simple. This coming from a guy who has a black daughter....not only do I try to use non-racist language, my actions speak it too.You mean you met and played golf with The Cablanasian.
Think about it for a second- would you tell this same story to some casual friends at a restaurant and instead of calling him Tiger, calll him the Cablanasian?
And when one of your friends said "who or what is the Cablanasian?", you would reply "Well, thats how Tiger Woods described his race when on Oprah so that's what I call him now."
That seems fine to you?
