A top 50 SF is decommitting from KU

I don't know what he's looking for in a new program. But I still feel like the biggest need on the roster is an athletic SF who can match up with tall/athletic ACC wings. This kid would be a good fit, and if he's a legit 6'8" he could eventually play some stretch 4 later in his career.

Doesn't appear to have anything to do with being homesick.
Still a long way cross country. Just guessing, but the the teams in the west/midwest may have an advantage on that front? Again just speculating, but with Powell on deck that may give him pause as well unless he fancies himself 1 and done? I don't know much about the kid, so just thinking aloud here.

After observing Drake play a couple of times this past season, and viewing his interviews by David, do not believe he even thinks of being a one and done. He mentioned that he would come off the bench if that is what is required for the team to be successful. Seems to be a kid that has the moral values far beyond his years, and wants to leave a legacy at UNC. That's JMHO!

I was wondering if the other kid fancied himself a possible 1 and done not Drake. Was wondering because if not Drake comes in next year with similar size position.

Have not thought about Drake's options, but I would imagine it will depend on where the scouts see him being drafted at that point. There have been a few lottery picks that were 1 and done guys that did not start during their solo year in college. They did project as lottery picks though and then it's a no brainer they go, a -la Patrick Williams for Bulls non starter at Florida State and Jackson for the Grizzlies non starter at Michigan State come to mind off the top of my head.

So apparently because he had enrolled in summer school at KU, he can't just back out and pick a new school. He has to enter the transfer portal, even though the deadline has passed. Which means he will have to sit out next season unless the NCAA gives him a waiver.

Some reports that he was having a hard time keeping up with McCullar in practices, getting locked up, and Kansas was going hard on offering the Furphy kid with an early offer, and looked almost done, which sealed the deal for him leaving. He also talked about not liking the country setting and vibe with his teammates. Sounds like he's sticking out west, big city area, USC ?

At this point I would be surprised if Furphy doesn't join Kansas.

Something fishy here. Kid was on campus about a month.
