A year ago today we lost Coach Smith. He was my sports hero & the true meaning of North Carolina Basketball. RIP to the greatest coach in NCAA history. We miss you coach!

I truly miss Coach Smith. He, along with my dad, were my two great role models in life. Carolina basketball is still Number ONE with me..... but it is different without him as our Coach.

I was lucky enough to attend basketball camp while he was still coaching. At the end of the week he would always make sure to take a picture with each person who attended. Obviously it was a long wait and I assumed that it was because there were so many campers. Once it was my turn, I realized why the wait was so long. He made sure to ask everyone who they were, how camp went and if they learned something. He wanted to talk with everyone there. No one was treated like a number and rushed through the line. I always thought that was a great thing for him to do.
