GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – The Atlantic Coast Conference announced today that Ted Jackson, a long-time collegiate football on-field and replay official, has been named as the league's first Assistant Coordinator for Football Replay.

Jackson previously served as an ACC on-field official for 28 years (1977-2004) and worked 15 bowl games during that span. Following his on-field service, he was an ACC replay official for 11 seasons (2005-2015) and worked seven bowl games in the booth.

"On a national level, instant replay continues to play a significant role within college football,” said ACC Commissioner John Swofford. “As a league, our officiating programs are of the highest priority and this move should help us continue to enhance the quality of this very important aspect of college football.”

"Ted has been an integral part of the league’s replay staff since its inception in 2005,” said Dennis Hennigan, ACC Coordinator of Football Officiating. “He has significant experience, serving as a replay official in many high-profile games. Having a person of Ted’s caliber will ensure that we give this important aspect of the game the attention it deserves."

In this new role, Jackson will serve as the league’s liaison with all aspects surrounding replay including year-round training, development, evaluation and recruitment.

Jackson is a resident of Raleigh, North Carolina. He worked for the North Carolina Department of Transportation for 37 years as a chemist and materials engineer.
