Who do we think returns? Huff, Simms, Funderbunk?
Those sound like good guesses to me. I'm not convinced the FSU boys are ready for prime time, either.

Then again, some of these guys may just be ready to move on, even if they don't get drafted.

Huff seems to be getting better each year, but still needs to improve, imo. I'd give odds he returns. But maybe some NBA team will promise to pick him, thinking they can shape him up more quickly than UVa will. Does another year in the UVa system really improve your NBA readiness?

Funderburk has always struck me as one year away from breaking out. I could see him thinking he's never going to get there at State and deciding to take his chances. I notice that Devon Daniels decided not to test the waters.

"Testing the waters" doesn't seem to mean much this year without all the in-person testing and competition.

They can do both.

I think what he’s saying is that some of these guys are busters, won’t make it in the league and will have wasted a couple years of their life chasing an impossible dream. Will they attempt to get their shit together and go back to school once they’ve failed at playing pro ball? Possibly, although that’s easier said than done when you got bills to pay. If they could have just held their horses, they would have had a degree spoon fed to them, graduated, and then could have thrown a year or two away chasing the dream of playing pro ball if it meant that much to them. It just seems silly not to take advantage of the benefits of being a scholarship athlete at a D1 school.

At least, that’s how I read it.

You nailed it oh bearded one.
Yes they can leave early and go back and finish their degrees........but most won't so in 10 years the majority of these kids will be out of professional sports and they will wish they had taken the easy route to a college degree

UVA better hope that individual workouts don’t happen because Huff could easily sneak into the second with his skill set. He can play in the league.

I predict that in 10 years the majority of these kids will wish they had gotten their degrees.
They can do both.
True, but I wonder how many will?

I particularly wonder about that for OADs.

Is it really possible that teams like UK and Duke are getting enough of their short-timers to complete their degrees to avoid penalties?

Or did they do away with those penalties?
