Here's the list. Leading number is their HS rank (247 composite). Number in () is the vote.

ACC Preseason Rookie of the Year

001 - Marvin Bagley III, Duke (58)
016 - Lonnie Walker IV, Miami (3)
098 - Lavar Batts Jr., NC State (2)
028 - M.J. Walker, Florida State (2)
030 - Jalek Felton, North Carolina (1)
091 - De’Andre Hunter, Virginia (1)
114 - Aamir Simms, Clemson (1)
136 - Oshae Brissett, Syracuse (1)

Interesting that they have a redshirt freshman on the list (Virginia's Hunter). Not saying it's wrong but if he has been practicing with the team for a year (I don't know if that's the case), is he really a "rookie"?

Perhaps even more interesting is the number of high-ranking players who didn't make it on the list. Here are a few examples:

Duval, Carter and Trent @ Duke. All top 20.
#27 Malik WIlliams @ Louisville (unless he left?)
#35 Chaundee Brown @ Wake
#39 Alexander-Williams @ Va Tech
#48 DJ Harvey @ Notre Dame

Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying that better-ranked players deserve to be on that list ahead of the lower-ranked guys who got votes. I'm just surprised they aren't.

Frankly, considering the hype, I'm surprised any non-Duke player is on the list.

Funny that you bring up no Duval, Carter and Trent mentioned bc I just saw this tweet from Goodman about Duval.



Looks like things aren't all great in Durham.

I really can't wait to see Felton play for us, I feel like we've known about him for so long and finally are going to be able to get to see him suit up for us. He's going to be fun to watch, especially as a facillator and creating for himself while getting to the rack. Once he buys in fully to what Roy is preaching, his ability is going to shine as bright as our new rings!!
