Andrea Adelson is so much beter than Heather Dinich that I assume Dinich had her job from nepotism.

Thanks for the share, Woad. Completely agree on Adelson, and it's not even close.

Chizik sounds so good on paper. I'm trying not to get my hopes up, but if there's any chance this defense can get fixed he's as capable as anyone.

There were far more issues with fundamentals than personnel. Chizik is one of the best in the game at coaching up fundamentals. That makes me optimistic.

If Chizik can indeed produce a "good" defense I dont see how we dont win the coastal unless a lot of valuable guys get hurt on the offensive side of the ball.

There is no doubt in my mind that you will see an immediate impact on the defensive side of the ball. And, that is why I am extremely optimistic. Low expectations will never beat high standards. And, if you do not meet that high standard, you simply will not play, either get better or leave. That sentence pretty much put every slack, no discipline, no tackling, poor angle taking Defensive player on notice. You have to be excited.

I'm confident he can do it, but it is going to take into his 2nd year to get it right. Hopefully we see nice improvement this year. But 2016 is when I expect the D to look like Tar Heel Ds: smart, tough, fast, relentless.
