I have been following Carolina basket basketball since 1972 In that time, I cannot recall a player that has made the kind of year to year strides that Luke has made. He has gone from a solid role player to first team all ACC and a possible All American.

When he gets in the "zone" he simply cannot be stopped from scoring... Inside, outside he does whatever it takes to score and all with not being the biggest, fastest or quickest guy on the court.

Hard work, determination and just plain WANT TO has made Luke a central part of our team and just a tremendous joy to watch. I am so thankful that Luke is a Tar Heel

They tried 3-4 different guys against him and he abused them all.

Another reason to love Luuuuuke is that he totally owned State, 64 points and 29 rebounds in the 2 games this year. What a friggin second half today, was there any way he didn't score today, when he is on and in rhythm the kid just can't be stopped and all I can say is good luck trying to do it.
I have also come to terms with this, that Luke Maye's number 32 jersey will be soaring in the rafters!



And @BillyL love that nickname brother, I can definitely see myself saying that, also how do you like SuperMaye as another one??!!!

That is just an amazing stat. You could have won all the tea in China if at any point before this year you even insinuated that was possible. Couple that with Kenny William's Titanic growth this season, and I for one never saw this level even possible for either of them.

Brings to mind the ridicule I got back 2+ years ago when I posted that he'd be starting by his Junior season. Luke is a key member of our Core Four Five and has become a genuine force.

Listen to this and tell me that you don’t love this kid, he just scored 33 points and had 17 rebounds and never once did he refer to his performance and how well he played, all he talks about is his teammates and how basketball is a team game. Not only is Luke one heck of a basketball player, but he also is a humble and high character kid which is a quality that I know a lot of us admire about him too. And if you listen to his teammates talk about him it is nothing but praise, that right there should tell you all you need to know about Luke Maye. The success that he is having could not be happening to a better person.
