yes he would have, but he is not part of 'the family.' Well, the future of UNC basketball easily could be family leading a string of mediocre teams.
But he doesn’t have a degree that says UNC so we can’t consider him…. Move to the next alumni.
He absolutely would take a blue blood job. He will always be second fiddle at Bama. Top tier coaches want the best jobs and he will be the big name to replace either Self, Izzo, Calipari, etc.
Well, no one knows that for sure. And, no one knows if he was offered the job. Davis took UNC to the NCAAT championship last year. He sent Coach K packing from CIS and the FF. And, in less than a year, he's back on most fan's shit-list. I'd hate to coach for this University. The fans are some of the most ungrateful whiners on the planet.
Man, if some of you think Hubert’s offense shoots to many 3’s (they don’t btw. They’re 230th in 3pt rate), you would love Oats’ Bama having a 47% 3pt rate.

He most definitely wasn’t offered the job..I think we all know that! Hubert is what he is..we run an awful offense and he refuses to adjust and change up line ups! We got hot at the right time and obviously Manek helped! We were blessed with an easy road to the final 4 and took advantage! We were taking a lot of the same shots at the end of the season last year…they were just consistently going in! Hubert is clueless and it’s definitely showing

I 100% agree. I was speaking to those who want the UNC traditional system over anything else. If people hate Hubert’s system, they’ll be offended by Nate Oats’. And if he carried over the same system here, we’d be worse this year. We’re like the 310th best 3pt shooting team in the country. What if we took half our shots from 3? We’d be a 13 win team right now.
In the end, I want a schemer over a scheme, who can recruit.
We just needed one set play to get the ball to Bacot at the end of regulation, or at any point during the first 3 overtimes, and we would have won that game. Just one bucket, heck 1 made free throw and we have that win.

Lucky ass first season! Kevin Ollie was successful his first couple…have you watched the bullshit product we are putting on the court and it was the same thing last year until we got unbelievably hot…we have enough talent to be a 3-4 seed…no way this team should have lost 10 games
We shot 44% from the field and that is with shooting 16% 5-31 from 3, 31 3 point shots that's ridiculous!
That's a coaching problem, you don't keep allowing them to stay on the floor if they are going to continue to jack up 3'S when you are shooting so well inside the 3!
I'm not so sure they have all that much talent. And, luck definitely helps out.
This is what happens when your two forwards cannot score in the halfcourt. Everybody else gets doubled, and you take a lot of contested shots.
You are possibly the worst fan on this board. You revel in our basketball team losing so you can spew your vitriol towards basketball and tout football money. It’s nothing but the same old tired thing ad infinitum.
If you think we're good enough where we can beat good teams in many different ways, I think you're judgment on the team is way off. This team has to make 3's to beat good teams. They're not good enough inside and the guards aren't good enough playmakers to create easy offense.
We're also a 40% 2-point shooting team without dunks or close 2's. So we're far more efficient shooting 3's (as crappy as we are at shooting 3's) than shooting longer 2's. Nance is our best 2-point shooter by a wide margin and right now, he can't make anything.
I'm not saying you should be shooting 30+ 3's in game. I'm saying, this team isn't good enough to just beat you on 2's. You think we went on a run last year in March because we were really good from 2? Excluding the Kansas game, we shot less than 50% from 2. We went on a run because we took a bunch of 3's and we made a bunch of 3's, or at least made a bunch of timely 3's against UCLA. The high variance of shooting 3's worked in our favor. Kind of like when we would get upset by lesser teams because they got red-hot from 3.
So Bama #1 in basketball scares you that much.
Things have changed mightily, exactly as real football people have known for 40 years they were heading. The richest football conferences will now keep investing more in basketballs nd they will come to dominate the other revenue sport as well.
Shoot the messengers all you want. Stick your ostrich head in the sand all day and all of the night. You will change none of it.
