All of a sudden, we are DT rich (in numbers)

Remember the last couple years, we've been lamenting the dearth of DTs on the roster? Now all of a sudden, we've got a pretty solid 6 guy rotation in Thomason, NJones, Powell, Dinkins, Clarke, and Crawford. Still not there yet, as we need more pressure on the QBs, but the guys are starting to clog the middle somewhat effectively. DT recruiting needs to remain a priority, and DE recruiting needs to be given a whole new emphasis. OR, how about this....slim Nazair down to around 265 and put him at DE next year?

And only 1 is a SR.

That's the reason the staff is happy landing Campbell. If we also get Lawrence, great. Our DT depth will be like Bama's. If not, we probably take Marlon Dunlap as a 2nd DT in the class. He could be a nice 5-year DT, able to make an impact his final 2 seasons.

Trying to get the DEs built up the same way is the reason we are still hot and heacy after Andrew Fitzgerald. WE have 2 DE commitments, but Fitzgerald is higher ranked and could play as a true freshman (of course, I also was certain Dalton would play this year). DeFranco is a 5-year project. Fox could play as a true freshman and might even be able to play some LB.

I was really hoping to see Dalton this year but with the weight he put on it looks like it will take a year for his body to catch up...Big Dex has been at State a lot so far this year and I worry about that..It's another DT in the VA or DC area that I think UNC made his final 5...Last name starts with a K I think....Truth is I hope the Staff looks to stockpile the D side of the ball to round out this class...

DL played very well against the "dive" last week in Atlanta. I barely ever remember them getting more than 5 yards on a carry up the middle all game -- runs/scrambles by Thomas excluded.

Truth be told I thought we stopped them on the goal line another time...The pass rush has to get better...If we can get any type of rush on the QB we will see some pick 6s....Don't forget we had 1 in the SC game....If the DB takes that to the house it's over..Make plays when they are there...

Several sources say Fedora will take the copter to West Charlotte tomorrow to visit Marlon Dunlap. Does this mean the ship has sailed on Lawrence?

Not necessarily. Even if he has coptered to see Dunlap, he may not make the committable offer. And if he makes it, he might be happy to sign 3 DTs. If Fitzgerald signs, we will take 3 DEs.

Nope, we will gladly take MD, but STILL take Lawrence if he wants to come here. He falls into that "Best of" category...

I'm very afraid the ship has sailed on Lawrence , there is no buzz with us at all.
