i know there's lots of people here that have talked him in the past. I just wanted to share with you all that he passed away a few days ago.
Lord knows I've had plenty of wars with him throughout the years but at the end of the day it's just sports & nothing personal.
44 years old is way too young to leave this earth & I feel awful for his family & friends. I know NCAAUCOACH & alumni gym had lots of respect for one another.
There's a thread on RR if anyone wants to offer condolences.

Although I'm not able to say anything nice about our interaction in the past, I'm certainly sad to hear of his passing. As you say, 44 is way too young. Makes me feel silly for throwing barbs back and forth with him.

Was he sick? What was the cause of his death? Did he have small children?

I'm not able to post at RR but please pass along my condolences.

I don't recognize the name and have not posted there in a long time (for the most part enjoyed when I did though). That is way too young though. We've all known people his age and younger who have passed. It always sucks.

Tragic! Way to young! Can't remember any interaction with AG but like the rest of us he loved his team. Just way to young.

Let's keep this thread positive about wishing his family prayers and peace. We all are sports nuts in the end.

ALL fans should support each other in times like this. He was one year younger than my Baby Boy, can't even imagine how a parent would feel losing a child and hope/pray I never find out.

Life is too short to hold grudges, especially about sports!

Didn't know of him, but I offer my sincerest condolences to his family!

I'd trade all our titles to give Mike and this man 30 more years with their loved ones.
Amen brother.

I love UK but it's just a game.

I hope you're doing okay my friend.

To Mike, my buddy, still sending out prayers brother.

Thank you jc, take every one I can get, big day coming up next Wednesday at Duke Cancer Center.

Hate it for his family. Hope he was good with the Lord.

Pretty sure he's the guy that got himself in hot water at work for some of the garbage he was posting online. Worked at some kind of youth center or something in Owensboro, IIRC. Said some terrible things about Dean and posted out and out lies about the NCAA mess. I banned him and liked it because he deserved it.

I have noticed that grown people that aren't part of the teams that hold grudges because of sports teams lack a whole lot of depth in their lives and generally aren't happy with said life. Don't know anything about the poster referenced but 44 is way too young. Sounds like he was irrational with his sports and getting angry about things as trivial as sports can contribute to you having a much shorter life. Folks need to chill before they have a heart attack over some kids playing a game.

Heelbent, that's aligned for 9 you're thinking of but they were good friends.

I know Aligned for 9 got in trouble, but IIRC so did AG. Something about using state funded property to post malicious crap on the internet instead of working. That youth center he worked at was state run. They both claimed it was the long arm of UNC. Pretty sure that's why he disappeared. I may be wrong but that's what I was told.

Many condolences to his family on a loved one lost much too son. The majority of UK fans who post here are good guys and I respect their right to support and defend their team.

Right there you see the insanity, exact reason I used the term YOU are a NBA GM. If I am a NBA GM there is no way in hades I take Ingram before I take Brice, no way, one can actually help my team now and the other maybe one day for darn sure not TODAY!

Brice is not damaged goods just because he is a senior, he is a player that has shown huge developement since coming to UNC and still has a lot of room left to continue to develope. Brice has matured in college both in his game as well as a young man. If I am going to toss millions at a kid then I want a return and I want that return ASAP. If I am philly and I draft a kid first round I need him to help my team now, not waddle thru his contrat with me and when he finally developes in to a player that could help signs that huge contract with Miami. And by the way, if I am philly and drafting first round, I would prefer my rookie not end up in national head lines news getting in to fights and being around guns, maybe a more matured young man helps my concerns about that.

The NBA is my definition of extremely rich men doing dumb things just because they can afford to, makes it impossible for me to appreciate them in any manner.

Many condolences to his family on a loved one lost much too son. The majority of UK fans who post here are good guys and I respect their right to support and defend their team.
Agreed 58. It's a shame rival fans can't be more civil. Sports don't mean much in the big picture.

Jonathan (he deserves to not be just an Internet handle) was ok by me. He and I exchanged emails and he was always respectful to me. He was a different guy in those exchanges. He hated UNC and NC in general because of direct experiences during a time he lived here when he was younger. He shared some details and admitted he played a role in making some of those experiences what they were.

He actually said some good things about UNC to me and said if he were born and raised in NC he would likely be a UNC fan and just as passionate about them as he was UK. I can respect passion and frame of reference is everything. He did say my interaction with him helped change his perception of UNC and the state in general. He was cool to say that. He didn't have to.

He leaves behind a son who is probably 13-15ish now who has lost both of his parents (mom died a few years back). Maybe that experience caused Jonathan to have harder edges online (as an outlet)....not sure. Won't assume that, but losing a wife (and your Don's mother) can't be easy.

I know his life was as important to God as anyone else's is/was. I do hope he was right with the Lord and pray for his son, family and friends.
