So I order a swimming pool 3 weeks ago. Amazon showed it coming on Thursday of that week. It did not show. Contacted the delivery company. They stated it had just arrived on their shipping facility. Said I could have it the next day. I wasn't available so we set it up for Monday. Took off half a day to meet the delivery. No show. Tuesday, same thing. Contacted the delivery company again. They could not tell me what happened. Said they would have the shipping manager to call me back. This finally happened Wednesday. He said they didnt include my phone number on the slip, so no one could call me. Promised it would be there Thursday. I get a call about mid day Thursday from the same guy. He said it wasn't even at his facility. Said he would locate it. All the while, I was leaving messages to the seller on amazon about my issues. By Thursday, I requested my money back since its obvious its lost at this point. They offered back a 20% restocking fee. Naturally I refused that and asked them to contact the shipping company and find out whats going on. They emailed me back today and said they would reduce it to a 10% restocking fee. I replied by about not being reputable and lack of assistance in this issue. When I call the shipping company, it takes 20 minutes to get them to answer. Then its usually a promise to call back once they get an answer. Ive called them at least 8 times. They've called back 2 times. NOt sure how hard it would be to dispute the charge since I used a bank card.

Any suggestions to move this along?

Amazon customer service is notoriously awful. I've heard stories that they're more likely to help you if you're a consistent buyer though. Idk how true any of that is though.

Make sure you leave a terrible review stating exactly what happened. That will sometimes work.

I work for a LTL carrier and see this in our facility all the time. Not as bad as you have described but bad. At the end of shifts , you have guys trying to clean up the dock and they take freight that a costumer is coming to the terminal to pick up and ship to indy, Harrisburg Pa. , Philly , New Jersey.
I just had a trailer come in from Albany Georgia and had freight that was supposed to deliver in Atlanta on Monday. Routinely have West Coast freight come in from Savannah Ga. into our North Carolina facility because it is easier for them to just send the trailer to us to handle verses them pulling out the west coast freight and shipping the correct freight.

Not hard at all. The item was never delivered so the merchant has no defense. Credit card rules overwhelmingly favor the customer over the merchant, or at least they did when I worked for the credit card division of a bank ~20 years ago.

Sucks this has been such a headache for you. Amazon customer service is awful. I spend [mumbles] dollars a year with them and had to sit on a chat for almost 30 minutes last week to get them to issue a $5 credit when an item didn’t arrive by its guaranteed date. I wouldn’t waste your time with them other than to poast a bad review.

Wow. I have never had a problem with Amazon and their returns or customer service. I have returned multiple items over the years too. I also ran over my time limit on an item I purchased for my granddaughter for last Christmas, and after speaking to Amazon about the company who sold it through them, they refunded my money and told me to throw the item in the trash. Give me Amazon any day!

Same experience here. They accept any return and they have given me multiple items for free by just saying "do what you want with it and here's a refund for it."
