Now, a team from Medofrd, OR is leading a team from Chapin/Newberry SC 2-1. What is most interesting tio me is that the SC team wears hats that are not uniform. Most of the players are wearing UNC caps. Does that mean those players have UNC as their favorite college team? Did the coaches make them wear UNC caps?

I was wondering the exact same thing. I only saw half an inning but was seriously confused by the hat thing

The championship game is on now - and the SC batter was wearing a UNC batting helmet: the navy one with blue interlocking NC.

But they don't match the rest of the uni
And Carolina blue is part of every hat - the hat or the NC,, which is the UNC interlocking NC.

Those are UNC caps and batting helmets. Maybe the coach saw the NC as a nice way to represent the 2 towns brought together in 1 Am Legion team. But those are UNC hats.

I was watching the game last night and while they are similar, if you looked real close, the C is over the N on the Chapin Newberry team, It does look very similar but all the logo's I have seen of UNC the N is over the C.

Semantics, I know, much like teams that I have seen which have the interlocking SC.

As for the uniforms, Chapin Newberry's regular uniform is in the same colors of UNC. The orange uni's last night were shirts given to them from the American Legion in honor of Veterans.

Hope this helps for those wondering

I was thinking the same thing about the shirts. Because the socks where navy with Carolinia Blue strips. THREE OF THEM.
