I like the response from their president. Of course I doubt anybody at moo u is smart enough to realize he just called them an idiot.

Rumor is Keuka proposed that the two schools play a winner-takes-all basketball game to determine who gets the rights to the Wolfpack name, but NC State officials declined due to fear of losing.
I don't understand how they were encouraged to bow down to moo... there are several schools with Tigers, Lions, Bears (oh my!!) etc. that coexist. Although, maybe once it was brought to Keuka's attention, they figured - screw it, we don't want to be confused for you cow fondlers even more than you don't want to be confused with us.
I'm assuming the moo athletic department is also currently scouring the country for any "Wolpfack" teams, so they can protect that trademark as well.

The other school tried to negotiate with NC State, and offered to do the same thing, and NC State still refused. The point is if Nevada does it, then it makes no sense to stop another school from doing it.

Moo can't have an easy time picking on the University of Nevada. Al that gambling money will back the blue Wolf Pack. But mighty Moo can browbeat a teeny little school.

Maybe so, but perhaps this little college was planning to add a bass fishing team, and the Wufs knew they had to go all Barney Fife and nip it in the bud.
year by year ncsu has turned that nickname into a symbol of ineptitude and shame. if they had a lick of sense they'd pay another school to take it off their hands.
