Anybody been to Indiana?

I just realized i've never ever spent the night in any land locked state. Been all up and down the eastern sea board, every state from fla to mass, been to wisc (great lakes), ala, and miss.

Only been in the southern part of Indiana. Stayed in Tell City and Evansville. Pass through southern part on my way to and from NC and NE.

I had a buddy who played soccer at Evansville so went up there to party a couple of times. Don't really remember it though.

Interesting and made me think. I've only spent the night in a few landlocked ones I think: Vermont, Kentucky, Tennessee, and New Mexico. Also: Pennsylvania, but not sure if that counts or not (Delaware and Jersey block it from the Atlantic Ocean, but the NW corner is on Lake Eerie).

Seriously though, Indiana is a pretty depressing state. I remember driving by Gary, Indiana, and thinking "this seems like the most depressing place on earth."

I've felt that same way while driving through nowheresville towns in West Virginia

I used to go to a suburb of Indianapolis a couple times a year and would have a couple of overnights. Seemed like an alright place.

The windmills on the drive to Chicago are always a sight to behold.

I'm with prlyles. Three weeks in Indiana in January? Those are three weeks of your life you'll never get back, guns.

I went to the Indy 500 several years ago, and otherwise driven through the state. If you enjoy flat farmland as far as the eye can see, it's a can't-miss.

I'm good friends with a neighbor of mine who graduated from IU four years ago and was a cheerleader there. We watched the game together last night at a bar, and while she is a dear one and a gracious winner, she is happy as hell to be living in North Carolina instead of her home state of Indiana.
