thinking about getting one- want easy voice memos, fitness and simple text responses. Anyone tried one yet?

No, I bought a FitBit Surge. It has more of the functionality that I am looking to actually use.

I think having a watch that tells you when your phone is ringing and a phone that tells you the time is just pure genius.

I couldn't give a rats ass about it telling me when my phone is ringing. I do want one that allows me to voice text, create voice memos and keep track of workouts.

@heelmanwilm - buying one used this afternoon. I will give you a review.

I was waiting to get some feed back myself before i got one but noone i know has got it yet.

Ok- early reports are that it is comfortable and relatively easy to set up- you work everything thru your phone. Gonna take some time where I am not drinking beer and watching Carolina basketball to give you a functionality review.

Its not waterproof though- only water resistant.

No Apple Watch here, but I did pick up a FitBit Charge HR. Doesn't completely give you the voice text and texting functionality that the Surge does, but for what I want it for (simple call notification when I leave my cell charging, tracking steps/workouts) it does the trick quite well. I usually get 2-3 days battery life out of it and it's fairly accurate.

Getting more used to this little gizmo and I like it. First off, to @theJRG1 having your watch vibrate a little when receiving a call with phone on silent has proven to be a great feature for a couple of reasons- 1)- I often forget I have my phone on silent and miss calls and 2) I can see who is calling me while in a meeting without having to look at my phone, which pisses some people off.

The navigation is a little cumbersome- clicking and sliding and what not, but I'm getting better at it. The microphone works great for sending texts and recording voice memos- I haven't yet tried using it to talk on the phone. The fitness app seems solid enough too, but I am no "workout dude" by any stretch- I try to run or walk 3-5 miles a day and do some light lifting when the spirit moves me and I think this will be fine for that. Heart monitor is pretty cool. It also sends you reminders when you have been sitting too long.

Also, reading mail and texts is pretty simple- you just turn the stem knob and it scrolls up or down. It also shows notifications.

There may be some issues when my radio bluetooth is connected along with the watch- something weird happened with it today so not quite sure.

All in all, I think it was worth the $250 (42mm sport, used on Craigslist) I think it is a solid 7.5/8 out of 10.

@UNC71-00 In the "genius" post above, I neglected to mention how great it is, I think, to have more things for other folks (not you) to focus their attentions upon, while they could otherwise be operating their turn signals or checking their side mirrors or merging through various traffic-infested lanes.

All those murderous projectiles going my way are worrisome enough, without even considering those coming the opposite direction...hearing their phone, putting down that eggmcmuffin, turning down the radio, punching up the GPS, shifting Fifi over/under the phone-watch, un-buzzing the phone-watch, and dumping a cup of coffee in their laps...before maybe missing that all-important communication...and with nothing more than a pair of yellow lines on the pavement keeping them from rudely introducing themselves. Yikes.

Damn, don't I sound like some old curmudgeon?
