Anyone remember this?

Couple things

Reddicks last shot was literally halfway down th basket!

May was a beast. Meeks could be may if/when he decides to up his motor

Several 50/50 calls and no calls went our way during the comeback. Dook flopped numerous times and didnt get the call. So ONCE AGAIN the "refs are against us" bull is exposed as....bull.

May was definitely a beast. I'm surprised he didn't have more success in the NBA.

May was hampered by injury and then struggled to keep his weight down. But he sure was a beast down the stretch that season. His stat line for that game is legend, and then his performance in the tournament was crucial.

As Julez stated, he was killed by injuries. But he was on his way to being a very productive player. Before he was hurt during his second NBA season, he was averaging 12 ppg and 7 rpg in 23 mpg. That's pretty good stuff.

Got that game on tape still.

That's the same year they went to Connecticut and won....That's when I knew that team was going to win the National Championship

I know you guys think I'm all negative, but man what a day this was. My first Heel game I ever watched, and the rest as they say, is history.

Loved the fact there were no 3 point lines, no circle around the rim lines, basketball like it was supposed to be. Call me an old timer but those were the good old days.

My goodness...how old are you?

Yeah, we played UConn in a mid-season game. It was weird and out of character for our program. I remember that game too. Despite being crushed on the boards by UConn's bigs, McCants saved the day with some really big shots late to win it for us. I too had the feeling at the end of that game that we were primed to win the title. I went to the ACC Tournament that year and we lost in the semis to a Jarrett Jack and Will Bynum led GT team. And I remember telling my friend sitting next me (duke fan) that we had "bigger fish to fry" and practically guaranteeing a national championship.

I'm old school too brother but that game was in 2005. There was definitely a 3 point line. But the video is not great and you can't really see it on the floor.

Haha I'm not as young as you think I am. I was right around adolescence when I watched that game. Do the math from there

"Adolescence" in 2005? Dude, MY first UNC basketball experience (the one that turned me on to UNC basketball) was watching Phil Ford run the show his first year in Chapel Hill. In Carmichael. As an "adolescent".

Good grief I feel old now!
