It's almost here...!!!! Who's your teams and what (REALISTICALLY and BEST CASE) do you expect from them this year? I'll start...

Tar Heels
the realistic view - well, the D can't be any worse, and Chizik should have them improved enough that I say we go 8-4 regular season (5-3 conference). Follow up with a bowl victory and a 9 win season; sneak into the Top 25.

best case - Heels go 10-2 (7-1), win the division, get beat in ACC championship game. Get to a decent bowl and come away victorious... 11-3 overall and a Top 15 ranking.

Panthers
realistic - win 9 or 10 games, and maybe make the playoffs for the 3rd straight season, but make an early exit again.

best case - win 12 games, possibly get the no 2 seed and advance to NFC championship game before losing to the Packers

Good thread. Well done Mark.

Not sure what to expect from the Heels. Every time I start to have high hopes, reality brings me back down to earth. I suspect we'll win 7-8 games. I'm sure we'll lose a couple we shouldn't and probably eek out a win against a better team.

As far as professional football, I don't really have a team. There's a handful of teams I like to see do well - Chiefs, Pats, Colts, Bengals, maybe a few more. But what I want from any NFL season is for my Fantasy team to do well. I'm looking forward to our draft next weekend.

well $#!+, $#!+, $#!+

Just when they finally had the best potential set of receivers since Smitty & Moose, Panthers WR Kelvin Benjamin tore his ACL today and is out for the season. I may have to rethink my expectations for the season.... 8 wins might be their ceiling. UGH!

I'm ready . . !

We got the Gamecocks 2 weeks from tomorrow correct . . ?

I was checking out some of the games that were available for prediction games.

So.Car. is a 3 point favorite as of this AM.

I hope our Heels are much better on defense and I expect them to be . . my frustration was on display on too many occasions last year.

'Skins will be slightly better than last season, but, not by much.

Yep, basically just Greg Olsen and a bunch of question marks right now. Somebody has to step up...

The Panthers are completely snake-bitten. Is this the Curse of Smitty (no...really). Ever since they let Smitty go like they did -- Greg Hardy debacle, Cam Newton car wreck, KB torn ACL. In one year's time, three major franchise players deal with major setbacks. If I'm Luke Kuechly, I'm going to church every Sunday at this point (as season schedule allows).

I still think Carolina wins the division and has the tools to make a run in the playoffs...KB going down hurts, but they have talent. Depth allows you to absorb injuries and plug along...these guys just have to prove it. I am just, as a fan, kind of on eggshells though wondering "What's next?"
