I've never seen anyone on this board say they "hated" Brice Johnson. They may think he has much more room for improvement than he has already shown, but I think hate is a strong word here.
Having said that he had a great game today and wasn't to shabby yesterday either. Right now he is playing very very well.
IF Brice can stay out of foul trouble and uses that head in between his shoulders, he's a veryyyy dangerous player come NCAA tourney time

Brice is the epitome of this team. When they are good, they are really good, when they are
bad, they stink. I always love the Heels but this group has been more frustrating than most

Useless thread. Nobody has hated on Brice. EVERYBODY wanted him to give max effort including HIM, he said so!

I completely agree....Tarheel fans don't HATE any of their own players.....The ABC crowd?.....Well, that's a given!
As for BJ, he's really starting to play a lot more consistently now, and is becoming a force down low and around the basket....Love that little baby hook shot off the glass!

Of course what wasn't mentioned either was Roy chewed his butt out good during a first half timeout.
A true full thread---every year recently at least one player on the team has been singled out because of how UNC was playing. Remember Drew then McDonald got the wrath of many a fans here and this year which player has been called out the most after a Carolina loss, u know who it has been.
As much as Gary7 and Dsouthr have held on to their strong beliefs that Berry can be the missing piece to make UNC a elite team again I believe strongly that Brice Johnson has not got been given the credit for his consistent play. Lets be honest here UNC have had different players show up one game and then disappear the next but thankfully Johnson and Paige have picked up their game. Stats do not lie.

Those single digit games are what has to drive Roy and fans crazy. We see the talent from Brice; just would love to see him consistently put up 16 - 20 points and grab 10+ boards.
Hopefully, Roy's challenge will motivate Brice to play at a higher level through the next 8 games!
I'm still here. I've hated on him before and it aint over. He is too inconsistant. I'm glad he had a good game yesterday. I wont deny he has the ability. He's a junior with tons of playing experience. He needs consistancy.
I have always believed in Brice, at times I think maybe more than Brice himself has. I don't think brice reallly realizes how good he can be, I think he at times he is his own worst enemy because his belief in his own ability is some what easily shaken. What I want to see from the kid is what I saw in Tony Warren last year, even Montrez Harrell, no matter what, make a shot or miss that he comes right back assertive and just not willing to back down no matter who the challenge is from or what it may be. I want to see the Brice that believes to his core that this is my house and you do not have a say in the matter, inside the paint should be Brice's house.
Brice has improved by leaps & bounds since last season, I would love to see this kid iimprove at that same rate in the next year and do so wearing a Tar Heel uniform ! If he does he could be a lotto selection and maybe even make a case for over all #1.

Nobody ever left Dunk. EVERYBODY wanted more effort and consistency from him. Which his D is still lagging behind but at least we are getting some real good O out of him now.
I've been a big fan of Brice's all year, but have gotten on him a few games in which I thought he didn't give max effort and wasn't mentally in the game. There's a huge difference between not being on board with Brice, and pleading for more consistency from arguably our best player this year. Some folks tend to lose sight of that difference from time to time.
He's playing lights out lately and hope it continues in the tourney.
