Congrats to the goobers who choose Az over UNC for their college hoops.
I honestly don't know why recruits flock there..i'll concede the weather and I guess women..(whatever) I've strolled Franklin and see 10's all over the place..I digress, West coast, no TV...I know they have pro's but no way the ACC national audience
Remember that big man who chose Az over UNC..... Tarczgwhrueheski? Wasn't he in the same recruiting class as Brice? Oops.
I don't even think they're the biggest underachiever in their conference. Washington has had a few 1st-round draft picks over the years and despite that, they haven't even made the tournament (and they haven't for 5 straight years).
At least Arizona can make the tournament and make it to the Elite 8 in recent memory.
And where did Lorenzo Romar cut his coaching chops? UCLA under Harrick with Mark Gottfried on the staff as well. Another frequent underachiever.
I hope all our "experts" that tout those Millers as coaches can now, please, move on...
All about the matchups. Wichita was an incredibly tough "11 seed" for them to draw. Kind of ridiculous honestly.
Washington hasn't had nearly the talent that Arizona has.
Never said they did, but they had enough talent to at least be in the NCAA field multiple times in the last 5 years (but somehow missed them all, maybe getting snubbed the one year they won the regular season in the Pac-12, but flamed out of the conference tournament quickly).
Arizona's been in the field, and they've made several deep runs in the tournament to the Elite 8.
