I sure hope all this kneeling ends before basketball season starts. I have been a Heels fan for over 50 years but if our guys kneel during our countries anthem I walk.

No more NBA, MLB, or NFL for me, period.

1: This belongs on OOTB.

2: Then my advice is don't watch sports period. If players using their First Amendment rights during a 1 1/2 minute song bothers you more than players crashing into each other at abnormal speed, perhaps you need a new outlet.

millionaires playing with a ball playing the victim
taking knees like dirty bitch.
humorous.

the common man-sheep pretends to be oh so outraged over thes very clearly important developments..even more hilarious.

As a proud member of the GOP, I wish our president would stop with nonsense like this, yes it is total nonsense. By saying what he did he pretty much guaranteed the kneeling was going to happen, the kapernick deal was fading away, it was no longer really news worthy, let it go and it slowly fades away but no, Trump had to shoot from the hip, once again and now it is all sports center wants to talk about. I swear the man is his own worst enemy, if he would not say such crazy things publicly 90% of his problems would be solved and maybe he would be allowed to effectively govern.

I loved Dean and love Roy for the men they are/were as well as the types of coaches they are/were but I do not agree with the political positions. I appreciate what was/is in their hearts but I just do not agree with their preferred solutions. If the kneeling happens on our side lines, I will not like it, I totally respect Buzz Williams for having his players be respectful to our national anthem. But even if it does, I will always love my Heels, will always watch and root for them to win, some things just can not change and for me this is one of them.

I hope to bring a different prospective to this thread, and I hope you read my post till the very end. 1st I am a Liberal from Connecticut but I feel I have an open mind and enjoy talking politics and looking at issues from every walk of life.

My issue with the kneeling is this,” What else would you like them to do”

I have been told "well if the issue is social injustice then they should be donating their time and money to the inner cities ". Ok fair but did you know that a lot of player including Colin Kaepernick are doing that. Did you know that in a season when Colin is noting making a dime, he has donated over $700k of his own $ to 24 different charities and is working daily in areas I would not want to be in? Most say oh wow did not know that.

2nd I hear the “kneeling is showing that there against the Flag and Veterans”. Well if that was the case I would be 1000% against it myself but, with a little research I have found that not one single player, not even Colin has ever said that he was kneeling because he was against the Flag and against Veterans. Not 1 Player!!!! In fact most players have come out and said if that was the meaning behind the kneeling that they would never ever kneel.

3rd “These spoiled millionaires need to stay out of politics and keep to sports.” Ok 1st not all of them are millionaires in fact more than 60% of the players before this past weekend were making around league minimum. 2nd last time I looked Donald Trump was a Billionaire with no political ties before he started the birther movement against President Obama so couldn’t you say the same thing about him? That he is a “millionaire playing the victim card?

My last point and this one I hope we all can agree on is that if President Trump did not say anything about the NFL in his speech on last Friday night at the rally in Alabama, we would not be talking about this, and it would probably be a non-issue with only a hand full of players from a handful of teams taking a knee.

So all I ask my fellow Tar Heel fans is please do a little research before you come out on any issue no matter your political party, because many of your points do not make any sense when you dig a little deeper. Plus I would never want someone saying that the Tar Heel Fans are stupid like the Kentucky Fans lol!!!

A few of you will say that damm Yankee from CT what the hell does he know. Well even though I did not vote for Trump I respect the position of the President of the United States, I respect the flag and the men and women who died fighting for it, and I love my TarHeels!!!!!!

Thank you for reading

Great post. Lets also point out that NFL players were required to come out of locker room for the national anthem starting in 2009. Before 2009 no one had an issue with players not even coming out for the national anthem.

Good. Now tell him to vote.

I was in church this morning and everyone was kneeling on one knee as they prayed. I have never witnessed a bigger example of disrespect toward Jesus in my life.
