Why did Carolina go and shoot 39 free throws for the contest? Pretty easy answer as UNC attacked the rim constantly and either scored or got fouled. Love and Davis drove hard to the basket and when they missed Mando was constantly there for easy tip ins and follow ups. Also UNC made a conscious effort to get Bacot the ball in the blocks and he was scoring at will or also being fouled. That strategy worked so well that the team only took 5 three pointers in the second half…Attack. Attack, Attack and that is what Carolina did a lot today instead of launching bombs as the shot clock was winding down. Looks like a winning formula so hopefully that will continue to be the way the Tar Heels play for the rest of the season…

The key is handling aggressive ball pressure to do so. That has been a problem area in the past. Burns playing big minutes helped in that area too, as he cannot move laterally or hedge effectively at all.
