Baylor to announce Jim Grobe as interim HC

Grobe is well known as a straight arrow. He is exactly the kind of man they need to oversee the mess while they plan for the future. If Grobe does well, which is about much more than Ws, he can get the job and have 1 more shot.
I guess this proves that they are serious about winning not coming first. I don't see him lasting longer than two seasons.
He may last just 1. If they can get a top candidate interested, they will take him for 2017. But now, they need a man known for good character. Grobe fits the bill. I wish him luck.
Really bizarre -- never imagined Grobe would be coaxed out of retirement, especially for this kind of mess -- but agree that there aren't many coaches more respected than him. Solid move by Baylor. He'll hold the program together until they get a permanent replacement in the next season or two.
Very solid move by Baylor; it shows long-term thinking on their part. Grobe is the perfect "bridge coach" that will clean up the culture of the program and regain the alumni base's trust and respect. He'll set the groundwork for a bigger name to come in in a few years and attempt to get them back to their current heights.
Make no mistake though, Baylor is going to be terrible for awhile. They'll do alright this season, but then by 2017 season, they'll be bad.

he's not used to that ish he's going to see...baylor is run like an nfl franchise, good luck with that.
