CAROLINA NOTES
• The Tar Heels are now 19-2 overall, 8-0 in the ACC and 12-0 at the Smith Center.
• Carolina returns to action on Monday, Feb. 1, at Louisville. Tip time is 7:01 p.m.
• The Tar Heels begin a three-game road trip with games at Louisville, Notre Dame (Feb. 6 at 7 p.m.) and Boston College (Feb. 9 at 8 p.m.).
• Carolina shot 53.7 percent from the floor, the 14th time this year UNC has shot 50 percent or better from the floor and the first time in four games since the win at Syracuse.
• The Tar Heels shot 53.3 percent from the floor in the first half and 54.1 percent in the second. That’s the sixth time this year, the second time in ACC play and the first time since the Clemson game UNC shot 50 percent or better in both halves.
• Carolina has scored 80 or more points 17 times in the first 21 games and improved its scoring average to 85.8 per game.
• Carolina forced Boston College into 23 turnovers (most by the Eagles this season; previous was 20 vs. Maine) that led to 30 points off turnovers. That’s the second-most points off turnovers for the Tar Heels this year (most since 31 against Appalachian State and the most in ACC play). Conversely, UNC turned the ball over 11 times leading to just five points off turnovers for BC.
• Carolina grabbed 27 of the 31 rebounds on BC’s offensive end of the court. The last time an opponent grabbed less than five offensive rebounds against Carolina was by Boston College in the 2015 ACC Tournament.
• Carolina forced as many turnovers (23) as it allowed made field goals (23).
• The Tar Heels shot a season-low 50 percent from the free throw line (11 of 22). UNC missed its first eight attempts today and was 1 for its first 10. The Tar Heels did make 11 of their last 14 from the stripe.
• The Tar Heels made 12 steals. That is the third straight game UNC has made at least 10 steals (15 vs. Wake Forest, 11 at Virginia Tech and 12 vs. BC).
• The Tar Heels’ bench out-scored Boston College’s bench, 35-9, as the Eagles played shorthanded due to injuries.
• Roy Williams is now 769-204 in 28 seasons and 351-103 at Carolina.
• Williams is 149-57 in ACC regular-season games, a percentage of .723 that is third best in ACC history.

PLAYER NOTES
• Joel Berry II had 13 points, six assists, no turnovers and three steals.
• It was the fifth time in eight ACC games that Berry has played without committing a single turnover (Clemson, Syracuse, Wake Forest, Virginia Tech and Boston College).
• Berry has scored in double figures in each of the 12 games, the only Tar Heel to accomplish that.
• It was the fourth time this season Berry made at least three steals (third time in the last five games). Berry leads UNC with 34 steals.
• Berry’s six assists were his season high in ACC game (previous this year was four on five occasions) and his most since he had 11 vs. Appalachian State on 12/21.
• Brice Johnson led Carolina in scoring with 17 and rebounding with 11. It is the ninth time he led UNC in scoring this year (leads team) and 13 time in rebounds (leads team).
• Johnson posted his 12th double-double of the season and his third in a row (which matches his longest career streak which he did to begin this season).
• Johnson had 10 double-doubles in 108 games in his first three seasons and has 12 in 21 games as a senior.
• Johnson passed Ty Lawson for 36th place in UNC scoring. Johnson has 1,391 points, one less than Kris Lang, who is 35th with 1,392.
• Marcus Paige scored in double figures (12) for the first time in five games since he had 30 at Florida State on 1/4/16. He scored as many points as he did in the three previous games.
• Paige hit three 3FGs, his first in four games and his most since he had five at Florida State. It was the fifth time this year and 46th time as a Tar Heel he made at least three 3FGs.
