I don't hate Creed either. They are far from the best, but I don't actively dislike them or anything

As for Creed -- I don't mind them, but certainly never high on any playlist. I think they are the "Nickelback" before there was Nickelback. I think people felt Creed was a bit fake for trying to go the "Faith + 1" route (lame South Park reference, for those unfamiliar).

Childish Gambino is Donald Glover's rap name. He just released his 3rd album "Awaken, My Love" about 2 months ago, and that album is more funk/R&B than rap/hip-hop like his first two albums were. He's also an actor and writer. He used to write for 30 Rock, he played Troy on Community, and is currently the creator and star of Atlanta on FX, where he won 2 Golden Globes for best show and best actor. He was in The Martian and has a small part in the next Spider-Man movie, which is a nod to the fact when they rebooted Spider-Man with Andrew Garfield, there was a large contingent who wanted him to play Spider-Man, but the Miles Morales version of the character, not Peter Parker.

I love the old school funk sound in the latest album; it's got a George Clinton/Bootsy Collins vibe on a few of the songs.

Yeah, they are great. Most of the grunge stuff was crap but they kind of had an influence in all of that happening.
