I'd loathe him if I were a Dukie. I don't get his unwavering support for us.
I have a lawyer buddy (who is also a basketball geek and hosts a hoops blog) who converses with Bilas from time to time on a legal list-server (Bilas is also an attorney), and he has wondered the same thing. His theory just from their conversations about contemporary issues in college basketball is that, although Bilas would never say it in so many words, K's increasingly transparent double-dealngs and hypocricy may be leaving a bit of a bad taste in Jay's mouth, and Roy by comparison looks better and better.I'd loathe him if I were a Dukie. I don't get his unwavering support for us.
Roy is a good dude. He just comes across as real to me, unlike coach K. Much respect for Roy Williams. He's a top 10 coach of all time without question. I could totally understand why Jay wouldn't respect coach K as much.
I like me some IzzoHave never heard a bad word from anyone about Roy. Just one of the genuine good guys in this sport. I hear the same about Izzo.
I could be wrong but I think Is so could get a W next yrRoy owns Izzo...what is it now UNC v MSU 7-2....
NTTAWWTI'd go gay for Jay Bilas.
Every time a duke fan is critical of him, it makes me love him more.
Bilas is not souring on Duke or K. Bilas uses his critical thinking skills, does his research, and reviews FACTS before jumping to conclusions. He then takes that analytical approach and concludes thusly. He says what he says because he believes it to be correct. When something does not fit with facts, logic and reason, he will call that out as well.
It is as simply as that.
