KU basketball was dirty before Dean Smith played there. Kansas City was the center of the semi=pro old time AU scene, and KU was getting goodies with that proximity back to the 1920s. It was KU grad Adolph Rupp who took corrupt basketball recruiting to UK.

Well in MO., this has been a point of emphasis for years about the KU basketball program. Even Kansas State alumni's can attest to it.

What pisses me off about this stuff is that men like Bill Self, K, John Wooden were all great coaches, they didn't have to cheat, they chose to cheat, they would have fielded great teams even had they not cheated. I can in some way understand a coach that realized he had to cheat to win< Kalipari for example, only way his teams were ever going to win was by cheating because most high school coaches would out coach him. But those guys that cheated even thou they didn't have to, really hard for me to be respectful toward them, even if I wanted to be and I don't.

That was the laugh that all the schools had when they played Kansas, there was a cartoon of Self a few years ago without the toupee. 😃😃😃😃
