If we split the team into two evenly matched teams, what team do you like to win a scrimmage?

Blue:
Berry
Williams
Jackson
Hicks
Meeks
sub - White

White:
Britt
Paige
Pinson
Johnson
James
sub - Maye

I will take the blue, I figure brice & james will foul out by half time, only hicks fouls out by the half for the blue.

At first glance, I sorta like the White squad . .If, all is healthy, I like the Pinson and Johnson combination. A lot of speed on this side of the ball . .

Would be a fun game to watch....I have to go with the Blue team! I think Jackson is going to be the 1A man this year behind Paige so they cross each other off. Berry and Hicks will both be much improved over last year which takes out Johnson and Britt. Williams is going to be a surprise and although I give Pinson the edge here..it is not enough!!! It comes down to Meeks over James! KM will again show great improvement in all areas and thus would be the deciding factor in this game!!!

Blue wins. Better front line, enough shooters to give the bigs space and a penetrating pg that'll create open looks.

Blue in a blow out.

EDIT: Nevermind didn't see Pinson on there. Plus Blue has no bench.

Blue in a squeaker.

I miss the Blue-White game. Always a fun week-end. Go down Fri afternoon, stay over, nice meal, walk around campus...Sat breakfast, a little walking about or go early to tailgate, football game early afternoon, then later following football the Blue-White. Go catch a shower at the hotel, go out toeat then hit the sack before heading home Sunday morning.

Upon rethinking it over about 50 times, I think it could go either way. Paige at the 2. Williams is unproven. Meeks against James is a blue advantage. As is Berry over Britt. Jackson is an advantage over Pinson (barely).

That said, Paige is a huge advantage over Williams, Johnson is an advantage over Hicks. Stillman isn't on their level. Which leaves a hell of a dark horse in Maye.

You very much understimate Stilman

At first glance I was landslide blue. Upon more thought, I say blue in a tight one.

White has probably the best two players on the floor (Paige/Brice) but then blue has the next 5. Blue has a slight advantage in bigs (I'd take Meeks/Hicks over Brice/James) and a decent advantage at wing (Jackson over Pinson), and I'd say its about a push at guard (Paige being the best, Berry not too far behind, then a decent drop off to Williams, and finally Nate).

If Paige flipped his switch and took over the game he could definitely propel the White to victory, but see it more likely that the Blue would just have Berry abusing Nate for the majority of the game and wear them down that way.

This brings up a good question. Do you think Berry could lockdown Paige? I think he might be able to. I mean, Paige can shoot it from anywhere, but Paige at times can't create separation. Berry could probably hound him and disrupt passes into Paige. It comes down to whether or not Maye or Johnson could screen well enough for him, but I am not sure they can.

I'd like to swap Theo and Justin in those lineups. That would presumably push the advantage to White, BUT it would let us see the probable starting lineup for 2016-17 playing together. [Depending on who we sign in the 2016 class, obviously.]

That would be fun to see.

Wow...people sure are high on Joel Berry. I mean, all of you praising him might be right. But I don't think we've seen enough to say that Paige is only a "slight advantage" over Berry or that "Berry might be able to lock Paige down". Holy cow fellas, Marcus Paige is close to a Tar Heel legend. And it's for that reason that I would take the White team. Like someone else stated, Paige and Brice would be the two best players on the floor. I think Brice could score with relative ease against Hicks. And that's no slight to Hicks because when Brice has it going, he scores with relative ease over most. Meeks and James is closer to me than it seems to be for many of y'all. James could muscle him around and is longer and just all around bigger. And I also don't see Britt as the liability that many of y';all do.

As for the matchup, it looks pretty even. Williams' inexperience could be the difference in favor of White team. Would be fun to watch.
As for the rest, not gonna get into who MIGHT could stop whom. Just gonna state what I KNOW.
1. Marcus is a gifted scorer, excellent combo Guard and our most experienced/complete player.
2. Berry is our best PG, on both ends of the floor.
3. Brice can score on anybody and play with any Big in the country... and how good he is this season depends on how many fouls he can avoid.
4. Jackson is poised to absolutely break out this season.
5. Nate is our 4th best PG (yes, I said 4th) but can be an asset for depth at the 2.

I'll just wait and see if we use what we have to its best advantage.

"Nate Britt is our 4th best PG . . "

LMFAO

Dude, you rail against Nate Britt at every freaking opportunity. For somebody that is allegedly a basketball coach, that may be the dumbest post I have ever read from a Tar Heel fan on this board.

This shouldn't and doesn't really surprise me though, as you were the poster that said Berry was 'hands down' better than dook's Tyus Jones . . judging talent certainly isn't one of your strongest assets.

And "dude", you are so predictable --- I figured that would get a rise outta you -and as usual, the king of hyperbole.
And as for you talking about my talent judging chops? I'll just sit here and have a nice chuckle over that one.

4th best PG on the team . . ?

Theres a clown post if I've ever read one.

You must have been really butt-hurt when Roy refused to start Berry last season . .

Britt is obviously the 3rd best PG on the team and not a single person is a sniff close to the top 3 in PGs unless Pinson or Williams is some sneaky PG in disguise.

I would like to know who is third if Britt is fourth. Hard to argue that Berry and Paige are better, but unless we have a transfer, there is nobody even close after them!

I can't wait for this season to start.
