Actually, he waited due to Gard's father having cancer, gard's father passed in October so Bo decided winter break was the time, plus he put the heat on Alvarez to take care of Gard as HC.

If not for the hard work done by Bennett, I would agree it has been all Ryan. But Bennett took over a loser of several decades and got to a Final Four. That made Ryan's job a much much easier start than it would have been otherwise.

Don't think he ever got over the championship game. Other factors certainly in play here...
