I know this isn't directly related to our Tar Heel program but wanted to post it anyway. I met this guy several times as he was a close friend of my parents who live in Charlotte and visited them often. He was an Asheville native so I'm sure Roy knows him or has met him. What sticks out is he was a proponent of fast break style basketball like Roy, even back in the 70's. Coach pushed his players to use basketball to make a good life for themselves on or off the court. He was a good guy and I enjoyed talking basketball with him. He had a lot of good stories to tell.. RIP "Coach".
