Unless Bobby wanted to get away from the coaching side of things a bit, it looks like he basically got canned with the safety net of an administrative job. Mark probably knows he will start feeling some heat next year if the don't make the tournament. So I have to assume it was Lutz's decision to throttle back out of the coaching grind as he seemed to be the only one on the staff that was capable of actually putting any x's and o's together. Never thought of Gottfried as any particular genius, but his is dumber than I thought if he indeed shoved aside the only true coach on the bench.
According to the article, State is going on a foreign tour.
I predict some players defect and stay in Europe (if that's where they are going).
Just kidding of course. The Cold War is over. But Gott does appear to have trouble holding on to his players. And now his coaching staff, as well, it seems.

Lutz probably isn't the reason Smith signed, but what if he was? He was expecting to play on a team that had Bam and probably one other good player. Now it's just a middling team with a short bench and missing one of the coaches.
One would think so, but he has to sit out a year now if he leaves, and that ain't happening. Another kid led astray by listening to the wrong ones.

Gotfried is on a very short lease. Yowser will use him as a scapegoat to keep her job and install Lutz as head coach. I predict in the middle of next season.
Around here in NC..state used to be our number one rival..it doesn't even feel the same beating them as it does to beat dook!!..it's expected!!..one of the worst ,if not "THE" worst,bball programs in the world!!
