Looks like the three most likely destinations for the Heels are Russell, Citrus, and Tax Slayer. Of course if we get some help and sneak in to the ACC Championship and win we would be in the Orange Bowl.
To me, the Citrus on New Year's Eve vs a top tier SEC team would be best. Then the Tax Slayer against a middling SEC team. The Russell is supposedly more prestigious, but the opponent would have less cache.
Obviously we want VT to fall to GT or UVA. But we also want them to lose to ND. (On a side note, I would leave to be a fly on the wall when the Hokie nation invades South Bend. Culture shock will set in.) We would jump a 4 loss VT team in the bowl selections. Might even jump a 3 loss team if we look good these next 3 weeks and they get blown out in the Championship.
