that kid was brutal on defense last night for Duke. straight matador defense. as a team they didn't look too good on the defensive end but he was atrocious.
You guys did watch Caolina guard the ball first two games....right?Don't recall their guards playing any better "D" than Ingram, as OP points out. I watched an avg team at best last night and one that will eventually get pretty good.
Fair enuff... Ingrams defense was as bad as North Carolina in our first two games. Did that pass mustard for ya?Yea. How about you? Discussion was on Ingram btw. Just a heads up.
Boy, you need to step away from the single malt scotch..sip water, dudei think we need to look at our team we have hard time guard small school what happens when we play maryland we will get killed
Haha!Fair enuff... Ingrams defense was as bad as North Carolina in our first two games. Did that pass mustard for ya?
Our guards, while not stoppers, are much better defenders than d00k's guards. Berry is going to be a steal machine, he is quite good on the ball. You guys did watch Caolina guard the ball first two games....right?
Agreed. My post is not meant as a referendum on the whole season, just Dissappointed in the first two games defensively. I am really waiting for Theo pinson tp become Jackie Manual on defense. Lot of props for him coming in and he has all the athleticism in the world. He just seems to play a little loose with defensive fundamentals. Our guards, while not stoppers, are much better defenders than d00k's guards. Berry is going to be a steal machine, he is quite good on the ball.
The d00kies haven't been really good defensively in years. They were pretty good last year but there's no Winslow or Okafor on this year's team. They'll have more trouble matching up with us than we will with them IMO.
Yeah not sure what is up with Justin. As for Theo he defends a little like Danny Green did. Danny was a tremendous off the ball defender, hence all the steals and weak side blocks he used to get. But coach was very frustrated with Danny early in his career due to him losing track of his man while freelancing. He also was not a great on the ball defender in his first two years. Theo really reminds me of how Danny played, but with the athleticism of Jackie. I hope Theo can combine the best of each.Theo hasn't played much due to his injury so he's still feeling his role out. Much like JP, he can be a stat stuffer and do a bit of everything. But I think his ceiling is higher. He will be one of our better defenders by the end of the season. I love his ability to facilitate the offense, he is a fine passer. He possesses NBA potential, provided he stays healthy.
Now we need JJ to get off the snide.
