Brendon Haywood

I disagree, he is a hack. I don't give-a-rip that he was a Heel, played in the NBA, and is now an "analyst" paid to give his opinion. Well, his opinion blows.

Last year, he picks against the Heels (he favored kensucky) citing "I have to go with what my eyes tell me". This year, he is on the UCLA bandwagon against the Heels saying "
My heart says take UNC, but my head says take UCLA". I think he has sold out to seem unbiased.

I mentioned this last year on this board; and well... some people respectfully disagreed. Needless to say, I'm not hoping he does well as an "analyst" in his picks against the Tar Heels.

That's assuming Brendan is as good an analyst as Jay. I can't stand dukies as much (maybe more) than most Tar Heels, but Jay HAS picked against us before - using logic and reasoning. Not the BS Brendan is spitting.
Maybe he's doing the reverse psychology thing; trying to jinx the Bruins? We can hope.

I think you're overreacting. I think Brandon will do well. I don't expect him to pick the Heels just because he's an alumnus, that's not his job.

Last year he had UK beating us in the 2016 Sweet 16 (we know the history there)... and this is the second year i'm overreacting to his analysis of UCLA beating us in the Elite 8.

UCLA is going down hard! :D

I'm one of the biggest "homers" on this board, meaning I see everything through light blue glasses. But I appreciate the other end of the spectrum. It keeps me open minded.

Gee whiz, guys. This is his JOB. Don't you think if he came out predicting UNC to win all the time they might not want him on the air? His job is to analyze teams and games and give his expert opinions based on that research. He is supposed to be unbiased. If he wasn't, he wouldn't be employed long.

Cut the guy some slack, he is trying to be the best analyst he can so he can earn a paycheck. I am sure in his heart he wants UNC to win every game, but he can't come out and say that every time he is on air.

Everyone here blasts dookie V for his obvious bias, but we want Haywood to do that because he's one of ours?

Just because someone picks against the Heels doesn't make him a hack. I think Brendon is doing a great job. He is articulate, funny and prepared. Question? What if that was Tyler Hansbrough, would you call him a hack?

Like Brendon he's a Tar Heel. Of course you do know that. I asked a question and was curious what your answer would be specifically if it was Tyler on TV offering commentary. Is this your blanket response for all former Tar Heels if they pick against the Heels? Not sure that deserved a WTF. Good bless you.

some of you guys are looking through the analysis of a former player picking teams rather than his analysis of each game...sometimes former players of your favorite team aren't going to agree with you, but they might break down games in a way that makes viewers appreciate it.

you completely miss his contributions if you are relying on him picking carolina, even vs the lakers.

Didn't mean to cause this much consternation, I just disagree with his assessment and his thought process behind it. I could have soften the message... oh well, I called it like I see it. People under estimated last year's team and called them soft, and those young men nearly pulled it off. Villanova went down today so today was AWESOME!

Go Heels!

As I stated early on, it's not Brandon's job to pick the Heels. It's his job to state his honest opinion, regardless of his college affiliation. I'm sure he'll be rooting hard for the Heels, as will Kenny Smith, Brad Daugherty, and all former Heels.

Brendan Haywood is his name.

Kenny Smith almost ALWAYS picks UNC. Is he a hack?
