Does this mean they are all back? Is Kennedy even thinking about it?

Nice news to start your day!!!!

I've seen nothing on Kennedy, it would be hard for me to believe he's going anywhere . .

This is some welcomed news!

I love the joy Brice plays with. If he improves even close to the amount he did this year, he could be All ACC and contend for All American.

With all the guys back, we will be a force next year.

Heels are Family!

If he becomes more fundamentally sound on D, he will pick up fewer fouls per minute. That will help him and the team. If he learns to shoot consistently from 15 feet, that will help him and the team.

If either Hicks or Meeks learns to shoot well from 15-18 feet, that will help Johnson and the team.

You do realize his improvement this year was minimal. Without 3x's the improvement next year he will be lucky to make 2nd team all-acc. I don't expect much more than he gave us this year.

Minimal? I saw a unstoppable scorer when he caught within 12 feet of the basket. He could NOT do that at all during his sophomore year. He developed a nice little turn around jumper and jump hook. I saw a better free throw shooter as well.

Count on him to polish that all up, extend the range a little and we've got a super athletic, great rebounding power forward that will give us a great 1-2 punch down low to score.

And you're complaining?

Canuck you do understand that Brice scored 18 points against Wisconsin and was pretty much unstoppable on offense in that game. If he had not had to sit for foul trouble for 6-8 minutes that he would have normally played may have scored 24 and lead us to victory. Brice gives the Heels a legit inside threat that can score inside and 10-12 feet from the basket. His improvement from sophomore to junior year was tremendous. I,for one, am glad to hear he will be back.

Unstoppable? Really? GT, Ark, Harvard, NCSU all say hi. He shot slightly better this year so he could and did do that as a soph. He did improve from the line, problem is he doesn't get there as much as he should.

He is a great rebounder (and was a soph). He also cut down on his fouls this year. I'm not complaining in any way. I'm glad he's coming back. I'm just saying that he will need to make a much bigger improvement to be first team all acc as the previous poster suggested.

i agree that brice has to learn to play down low against big bodies like when he goes against anya of state but to say his improvement was minimal to me is a bit harsh. offensively he was much improved over last year. i would imagine his FG and FT % was higher, his ability to finish around the rim to me seemed to be much better. defensively i agree not much improvement there but hey baby steps.

He increased his range. and that little turnaround of his is almost indefensible. add a couple feet to his range. draw more fouls and cut down on fouls on D. All his issues are easily fixable by comparison to most things and he could certainly be a 18ppg 9 rpg player which would have been 1st team all acc this year.

I think the only big jump for Brice from his Soph to Jr years was playing time, although he did foul a little less to be able to have that PT in most games. I think that may have actually resulted in a regression in his defense, which is backed up by the fact that Meeks had more blocks on the season. I don't expect his skills to improve much but hopefully his fundamentals will continue to progress along with leadership.

Not sure I understand the comparison. Brice is already waaay ahead of Henson offensively. Henson was 6-11 and never shot better than 50%.

Regarding Brice's improvement, here are his per-40 minute stats for the last two seasons:

Year___FGM___FGA____FG%_____FTM___FTA___FT%_____REB____PFS___AST___TOS___BLK___STL___PTS
2015___8.8___15.6___56.6%___3.3___4.9___67.8%___12.6___4.8___1.5___2.5___1.8___1.1___20.9
2014___9.1___16.0___56.6%___3.1___5.0___62.2%___12.6___5.7___1.8___2.4___2.6___1.5___21.2

Improvements: free throw percentage, personal fouls

Unchanged: field goal percentage, rebounding

Declines: assists, turnovers, blocks, steals, points

The biggest area that Brice can improve upon is his consistency. He thrilled us with his 20 / 10 games, but had us scratching our heads with those 4 - 6 point efforts. He was playing better during our final run, so hopefully he will carry that over to next year. Marcus and Brice will make a nice outside/inside scoring combo.
