Brice Johnson best performance ever by a Tarheel

Not to take away from Brice but ESPN was wrong.
Billy Cunningham went for 48 & 25 on 12/10/1964 vs Tulane.
Good catch. I didn't have any resources handy to fact check it when they plastered it on the television. Brice is definitely in good company after that game though!

His energy was sick tonight...dude was a in a groove unlike any I have ever seen by a Heel...he looked at the Seminoles and the basket and said, "Hey bud, wanna party?"

brice's points and rebounds are not the whole story. he was very strong on defense -- he bothered a lot of shots and blocked 3. FSU was fired up for their home crowd and a lot of brice's rebounds were strongly contested. GREAT game for brice, and great win for the heels.

Yes sir. Best performance by Brice of his career and may be one of the best performances by a Tar Heel I've seen in a LONNNNNNNGGGGG time, if ever.

Watch out, Brice just might play himself into the NBA lottery. Doris Burke alluded to the fact that an NBA scout was there to see him.

Forget the stats... his energy and intangibles were the best I have ever seen. Even the plays when he didn't get a stat he was a force. If he plays like this we don't lose...ever

I was at the game. He had 2 rebounds and a put back at 16 rebounds and it should've gone up to 18. They never corrected it. Shorted him 2 boards. Anyways, it was incredible. It was such a confident, no way you're going to stop him 39 points. Such an awesome performance by him and Paige. Lucky to be there to see it. Go heels!

Brice is starting to realize if he just plays smart, with full effort he'll be the best player on the floor. If he and Marcus are rolling on the same night, good luck! I can't wait until we're full strength.

Yes it's scary good ...I just wish Jackson would join the party ...I really like the kid and keep hoping he'll start clicking ...if that happens and with Berry being somewhat consistent we'll be a tough out for sure

Lets face it, Justin is in a funk and even had trouble with his running floater from the middle of the lane. Joel was not great and only caught fire towards the end.
I have confidence in both and believe that games like this will help their development.

Performance definitely ranks up there. It may have not amounted to as many points, but both Tyler and Jamison have had similiar performances on more than one occasion.

It has also been awhile since Paige stayed aggressive at the offensive end for long stretches.

Jackson really needs to start taking it the rack. I love the floater when it is working, but if you never go hard to the bucket it becomes guardable. Jackson is so long he is going to get fouled and that should get him going. If he doesn't Pinson is waiting to eat up those minutes.

Let's not forget S May with the 20/20 games against puke, in the NCCAAT, and in the NCAA champ game! Those rank up there too, but Brice just got his name in a history that is second to none!

Congrats Big Boy! Now get your jersey honored/retired!

Hansbrough had 40 and 10 vs GT as a Frosh for the Smith Center Record and ACC Freshman Scoring Record.

Stunningly great game tonight by Johnson, I hope as mentioned above he now understands how dominating he can be and just lets it flow.........

As much as Brice's on-court numbers were phenomenal what impressed me the most was his emotional control. On the road, playing against true bigs - I have seen Brice lose that control so many times in those iituations. He kept calm and was the absolute best player on the floor when he was needed the most.

The one thing about Brice that is troubling is how he gets visibly frustrated. It looks like he gets in his own head sometimes. He's a very passionate player and plays with a high level of intensity. He gets really frustrated with imperfection. He's got an abundance of talent.

With emotional players, I think you have to take the bad with the good. That same
emotion that can produce a game like last night can lead to a frustrating game
like he had against Clemson. Fortunately, he has had a lot more positive games
than negative this season.

With emotional players, you channel not stifle their emotions. Channeled properly and you get Rasheed Wallace; improperly and you get McCants! I love the way Brice is playing and I am especially pleased with his developing the ability to talk himself down when his emotions are skewing the wrong way. I'm not sure he could do this before this year!

This could be the springboard game that shows him the proper path for good!

He should be a double double machine from here on out. Hope he doesn't try too hard after such a big game. Brice Johnson is a man.

I sometimes have a legitimate fear that he is going to injure his head on the backboard or the rim, when he jumps to dunk it. Sort of like LeBron James looks sometimes. Granted, maybe he pulls himself up on the rim a bit sometimes.... but it looks at times like his whole head and shoulders are above the rim

definitely one of those games you'll look back and say, I remember when Brice Johnson lit up FSU like a Christmas Tree shortly after New Years 2016 at their place.
